Think my 2001 neon has knock!

ok well im trying to sell my neon since I got another car, its just a 2001 se, base everything, auto blah blah.

it hasnt really ran in 3-4 weeks, and its about 150mi from needing an oil change, and someone comes to look at it and we start the car and I hear a noise, and it really sounds like a mild knock.

so im thinking awww **** I hope he doesnt notice because it sounds like knock, but he did. he even said sounds like a knock, drove a little, and it didnt go away, so he was like yea im not interested and turned around.


so this is a kick in the nuts because I dont know what to do about it. never had problems with the engine and got my oil done on time. im not to sure about non turbo cars, but generally you can do a oil change (since it needs one) and if that doesnt help maybe some higher octane gas?

need some help asap!

Bring it over friday, ill have my dad take a look at it, or i can. 1 of the 2. I will be home all day as in i am on vacation. peace.

im gonna take it to get a change today from another place, and ask to see my old oil filter (so I can see if it looks overly old) and to make sure they change it, if that doesnt fix im adding some 93 octane to it, but it has a half of 87 or whatever in there. and if that doesnt fix it will have to look more into it.

gonna make it 10w-40 this time instead of 5w also

All Neons Are G-A-Y......Period. Go buy some APC products and stick them all up in ur neon, cuz ya know, the stickers alone add 5 horsepower!

Your opinion of neons is not welcome if it involves insulting the car or the person who drives it. If you wish to share your opinion of this persons' car or of the owner himself you should take it up in PMs or emails.

I have two neons and a DSM so I take offense to this as well. But the bottom line is that you need to keep your negative opinions to yourself.

Either way why is this question in a DSM forum, I understand both cars may have a 420a but please take it to www.neons.org or somewhere.
