Could timing have skipped teeth?

This is sort of a repost of my old thread. I had my T-Belt changed, and everything was going good all week, then i parked it at work (it was running fine all day before work) then when i come out of work, it turned over but wouldn't start.

Anyway, after listening to recommendations from my last post. Checked for spark... Check. Checked for fuel... Check. Checked ECU.... Couldn't find any leaks, not visible at least. So i gave up, took it to the shop, haven't heard back yet.

But im still worried, and I'm assuming the worst (Engine probs.) But if timing skipped teeth, wouldn't I have known other than just coming out of work and the car not starting?

Thanks everyone.
Dan

if your auto tensioner shit the bed, (it may have not been replaced w/ the belt) then some tension is given to the belt and then too much slack so it could skip...i'd say it's unlikely but let us know...also yeah you'd have some smacked valves (engine prob) if that happened....if it just skipped teeth it can still seem like nothing happened...i've seen people run all the time being off 2 teeth and hardly knowing it...let us know what the garage says

So, the skipping teeth really couldn't be the problem of it not starting? I mean, I checked the belt, it had a little slack, but it does have some slack at some spots and less at others right?

except for the between the cam gears which might only be sort of tight, everywhere else should be tight, im just saying u could've done damage inside the motor and it may not have seemed like it...if u are doing it, i would take off the timing belt cover and just check to make sure that all the marks are lined up
