Quick question...

Ok, crawling underneath my car tonight i noticed that directly underneath the intake manifold there was 4 open male ended prongs for hoses to fit over. Mine only had hoses hooked up to 2 of them. Is this normal? the 4 male ends are all in a row next to each other. What are the two that im missing? Can anyone help?????

i noticed that too on mine when i had the head off. two were vacant of hoses. although, the two that didn't have hoses on them were all rusty so i assume they were supposed to be vacant in the first place.

after looking through the haynes manual(emissions and engine control systems) section 6-4 i found that the vacuum schematic for the 1990 CALIFORNIA 2.0L turbo engine shows 4 hose lines. the two that i am missing is the BLACK one leading to the purge control solenoid valve and the YELLOW one leading to the EGR control solenoid valve. The kicker is that i dont have a california car??? what gives?

all of em have it... I removed mien completely after i removed emissions components from the car.

Yeah, california state is way more restrictive on emissions, therefore some car require some different setup, some minor differences no big deal, but the main point is that you shouldn't worry at all about you not having them, your car will work the same way with or without them, my car has the same hoses missing... so again, dont worry about them.

Ok, thanks a bunch. I've been having problems so im trying to rule out EVERYTHING. I didnt read any other threads on this topic so maybe someday someone will have the same question and find the answer here
