Hello, I just got a 92 Eclipse Turbo, tried to start it, and It will turn a 1/4 turn or so, then the starter quits. I tightend down the battery termnals, and still the same thing. I got the car dirt cheap becouse the guy tolde me it was the computer. I did not here any clicking from it, see any scars, or smell (well the car smells anyway, but not like fish), but i also dont hear the fule pump, and I put in a gallon of gas and the gauge did not move from empty. I looked at the cams, and they spin too. It my be the eginge is bad, but why would it turn? As manny times as i tried to start it it must have turned at least 2 revs.

The car did have a copuple injector, and the cam angle sensor wires dissconnected. I didnot see anything elce disconnected. Im farly shure it is the starter!? Would bad rings or somthing like that cause this problem??

I did smell gas in the oil... It is not the battery, It's a one year old optima redtop, and I put it back in my 95 and it fired right up.

thanks,
Jeff

on the left side of the car in the wheel well is the crank end. It has a 1/2" fitting on it. Use an extension and ratchet to try and turn that clockwise only!!!! if you can't turn it by hand (have somebody hold the clutch while you do this) then your engine is ceased and you need to go kick that guy in the nuts!!!
