Balance Shaft Question

Ok my buddy has a GSX and the timing belt was replaced but the balance shaft belt wasnt changed, this was done 10K miles ago, now whenever he revs up past like 3200rpm there is a rattling noise/vibration that sounds like its coming from the intake manifold area, could it be a balance shaft problem or what do you guys think I should check?

When did the problem FIRST start. If your oil pump gear is off 180 degrees it will vibrate like a mofo. I did the same thing and realized that was the prblem so I had to take everything apart again and turn the gear 180.
