Cd player all out of whack

I can't understand for the life of me what is going on. The stock stereo was fine until one day it decided it didn't want to suck cd's in anymore. It plays fm and am and cassette. Everytime I turned the car on I could hear the motor in the cd player kick on. I thought the motor in the reciever was blown so I went out and spent $500 on a brand new Pioneer unit just two days ago. Guess what. When I put a cd in the slot on the Pioneer the radio gets all confused, its starts spitting it out and sucking it back in and none of the buttons work. This only happens once I put a cd in before that it works fine. I have some wires from my dual stage boost controller that go under the radio to an led with a switch for it under my dash that I installed at about the same time this shit started happening. Could this have anything to do with it? I'm sick of FM, I need my cd's someone please help me.

It sounds like you just have a defective unit. Try just hooking positive and memory together, then ground. Don’t hook up speakers or anything else. See if it sucks in a CD then if not the unit is bad.

The new radio sucks in cds just fine. It just doesn't play them. It spits it out a little then immediately sucks it back in, does that three times and after a 10 second lapse spits the thing out completely.

What are the odds that I bought a new cd player that acts funky just like the old one?

My luck sucks. I went to the store in the snow, took the radio out in the parking lot, brought it in, they exchanged it, I put the new one in while still in the parking lot and Voila! Radio works. Now I can once again go bumpin' down the road listening to ' I'm a Barbie Girl '.

Just as a reminder, don't speed in the snow. On the way back from exchanging that radio I was on the highway doing about 40mph and the sign for my exit was entirely covered in snow. At the moment I saw it I tapped the brakes hoping that I could slow down in time but I began fishtailing, not like I was all over the road or out of control but the back end was swaying about just a tad. I didn't know it at the time but when I hit the brakes a semi behind me swerved to miss me. So as I'm fishtailing on the right side of the road this truck is passing me off and I didn't notice this until I look over to my left and notice that the rear wheels of the truck are so damn close to me I could have rolled down my windows and cleaned the snow off his lugnuts(that sounds really disgusting). That's when the slow motion kicked in, you know that feeling you get when something very bad is pending and there isn't a thing you can do about it. Fortunately the truck missed me, it was only by a few inches but a miss is a miss it don't matter if you miss by a few inches or a few miles. Right?
