Ok so my car doesnt seem to have the same pep it used to. My friends just got a new gti 1.8t and i know my car is faster but theres feels like it pulls so much harder. First off i have a 95 gst with full greddy exhaust dp and test pipe. uic piping, 1st gen bov magnecore 8.5 wire and ngk plugs, bigger smic...and i think thats it for performance. im runnin about 15-16 psi w/ out a boost controller. Now im know my car is pretty old now and my turbo kind of makes a whistling sound when i accelerate, but not like a turbo wind sound more of a.....deep whistle. My plans are to put in a 14b and get my car tuned. I have the safcII and when at full throttle the afc only reads 86% and even with my boost up at 20 psi i still dont get fuel cut. i dont know why i CANT get fuel cut when i try and i dont know why my afc reads 86% but what should i do to such a high mileage(86k) and old car to make it run more like new and prepare it for the next couple mods? and why wont i hit fuel cut and afc reads wrong? thanks for any help in advance.

first off you shouldnt be boosting to 20psi with the T-2Small. You're losing power running it that high.

Check to see if you have any shaft play with your turbo. Are you using a PL to check out your timing curve?

Upgrade your fuelsystem also. Either get a 255 or a 190 and get bigger injectors also.

I wouldn't even install the 14b. If I were you I would save up a little and get something bigger and better, perhaps a 16g of some type. Why buy something you will just want to replace soon anyway? Mod once.

First of all, i wasnt boosting 20 psi on purpose, the guy who installed my boost guage and mbc installed the mbc wrong and told me it was my boost guage that was broken, so i talked to someone else and found out that he put the mbc in backwards and my boost guage was right,
i had a pl but sold it, but its all stock timing, and im gonna take it to get tuned with a wideband, and also im gettin a 14b because its a cheap upgrade which can make a huge diff and i dont have money to spend on anything else. Its just a financial thing...

Im more curious as to why my car feels slower that it used to...

You might just be used to how fast your car is.

Thats happened alot. Grab a buddy and sit in the passenger seat. Seriously i didnt know how fast my car was til i was the passenger.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're just too used to your car. I drive my N/T all the time going 80km/h but it feels like I'm going freaking 60. Sometimes when I have friends sitting in my car, they shit bricks because of my driving. Now I have to tolerate with 60km/h and still they fear.

if at wot your afc reads 86% there's a problem check to see if your gas pedal is actually opening the butterfly all the way.
