I just got done putting my engine back in a getting it hooked up this week. I have a problem tho. Whenever I first start it up, it idles at 2K for a couple minutes then goes down to about 1.5K. What could be causing this? I didn't put in any mods that should have done this. All I really did was put in my ACT 2600. It didn't do this when I took the engine out.

What did you do while your engine was out.
did you touch anything? remove any sensor.

Id guess its something with the throttle cable.

your Biss didnt start spinning sitting on the motor jack.

check and see if you have the throttle cable too tight, at idle, just unbolt it and let it sag.

if no change, try to pull the plate closed, the rubber sheathing could be sticking.

Well I thought that the throttle cable was too tight at first so I looked at it and it's not.

Try pulling what plate closed?

throttle plate.

mine sometimes wont close all the way
like maually try to close the throttle plate.

Nah that was fine. Just turning the BISS in fixed it. Thanks.

I think my palte is sticking, too. I ahve the same 2k-1.5k idle problem when the car heats up, and pushing the plate back fixes it. How can I keep the plate going back to where it should? I can't get out and push it back at every stoplight:) Would Carb Cleaner help?

Damn! 95 GSX here and i have the same problem. my cars idle rests anywhere from 900-1.2 rpm. and just today it started resting at 1.5. what plate are you guys talking about?

Sprayed WD-40 all over the cable and the place where the TB plate rotates, haven't had a problem since...maybe just dumb luck, though :)
