Turbo switch and oil problem

Ok here goes nothing...I have a 97 GST with a built 6 bolt from slowboy about 1500 miles about 200 miles ago I started to get a constant off and on problem with my car burning excess oil and smoking very bad!! ...I think it might be my turbo considering its still stock but it still drives decent...how would i be able to tell what it is... and if I want to put a 14B on it for now what would I need to get it done! WHat materials?

PS 1996 Eagle Talon AWD sitting in yard ready for the switch over from the GST just want to make sure before I put the motor in the talon that its not the source of the oil burning!
