New tick behind valve cover

Same as a usualy DSM, my car had/has lifter tick. I recently (Yesterday 3/8/04) got an oil change with Mobile 1 Syn. and a new Mobile 1 filter. Today, when i went to start the car up the tick was unbareably loud. I let the car warm up as usual and the tick was still there. I drove to school still the tick. Drove to work...tick was still there, same when I came home. I checked the plugs one by one and the tick didnt stop. Somewhere I read to take a long screw driver and try to hear where the sound is coming fromn, this is where i found the tick to be the loudest. Rigth behind the valve cover, but before the intake mani there is a bar that runs across the length of the valve cover and is attached to the block. The tick/knock gets faster when on the throttle and a little louder. Any ideas on what it could be?? Is this just really bad lifter tick??
Sorry for the long story, just wnated to let you know all that i have seen/heard.

That's typical w/ Mobil One oil. Either switch to something different, or live with it.

Is it just the lifters?? If so Im purchasing revised ones this weekend. I dont think they will be to hard to replace. I think i saw a thread with a DIY how-to on it. Thanks Leet.

If its not your lifters its just your injectors running thru their cycles. that long bar that attaches to the head, but is before the manifold is the fuel rail.
