I just put a 14b turbo, ported exhaust manifold, 550cc injectors, 190lph fuel pump, replaced timing belt and water pump, and the car runs like poo. It won't even idle, as soon as I start the car it stalls unless I give it gas. I adjusted the fuel trim by -16% and it still runs like crap. There is also this horrible screeching coming from the timing belt area and a loud tick under the valve cover that is not lifter tick. What the heck is the deal with all this? I would think it would at least idle with the fuel correction I did give it. I am using a SAFC II and a pocket logger. Thanks!

Put Crank at TDC - Check Cam Sprocket Marks & report back.

The ticks do line up. It seems like the loud ticking from under the valve cover only comes on every now and then. It more than likely isn't the valves then right? The sqeeching only comes above 40mph, almost sounds like it is from the tire area, could it still be the belts? Also I am looking at the fuel trims with the pocket logger and they keep fluctuating. One minute it will be extremely rich, the next it will be extremely lean. Seems like my safc all the sudden doesn't want to correct anything. Any ideas? Thanks.

You best park this sumbitch & pull the damn Lower Timing Cover & find out WTF is going on before you destroy it - THERE'S an idea for you... you shoulda ran the damn thing with the lower cover off before you ever put the damn cover back on but God forbid anybody on these Boards EVER do that!

That is still consistent with Valve Timing Probs IMO...

What the heck is your guy's problem? Your supposed to be hear to help each other out and all you do is freakin insult everyone. Just for your info, I did check the timing, IT IS DEAD ON. I took it to my mechanic because you guys said it was off, IT WAS DEAD ON. The noise from the tire well was not the belts, it was a peice of the inner plastic that was not bolted down and it was hitting the tire at higher speeds. The loud noise that sounded like a valve was in fact a bolt left under the plastic on the valve cover. The poor idle was because of a improperly seated injector. I am not try to be a ass, but before you guys go and insult all of your members maybe you should be 100% sure. You can't be there to actually see it so don't insult the intellegence of someone else. Ban me if you want. :thumbdown

Before you go and get your panties in a bunch, not EVERYONE here is a certified mechanic and can diagnose your problmes by simply reading your posts.

Troubleshooting and an art, how do you expect to maintain your car if you can not learn to do it yourself? The best person that know your car is YOU.

SECOND, do not get upset because people can not answer your question the way you want to hear in a timely manner. And emergency on YOUR part does not make an emergency on ours.
