hey,just recently purchased a 91 talon tsi/awd a/t,had been sitting a while,i've got white smoke coming out of the exhaust once it warms up,the fluids arent mixing,no oil loss.cooliant loss is barely noticeable.it lags power when accelerating.could this be the head gasket begining to fail,also when i took off the intake hose to replace the filter i had oil residue lining inside of the hose,goes all the way up to the throttle body.i was told that was normal for a turbo car as old as this one.just curious if anyone else has had a similar problem..thanx

White smoke in the exhaust is from coolant getting in the cylinders or turbo. Suspect blown head gasket (do compression test after it's warmed up) or turbo seals. It doesn't take much coolant to make the smoke. You could also do radiator pressure test.

I was reading in one of the other threads about this. The guys car had been sitting awhile also. Someone said it might just be bad gas from sitting.
