Hello everyone.... k, well to start of i got a 1993 GS-T Eclipse, and i have been checking changing things lately because i bought it from a lady who let it set for about 1-2yrs... i have replaced the battery, changed oil/filter... i am now to changing the fuel filter because it could be the reason that the car... when started cuts out when idling... every now and then.... then about 30mins to an hr it will die... completely and wont start up.... i have been doing this so because the fuel... its bad and has been sitting in there for a while... so i bought some stuff to clean injectors etc... to flush it all out.... so, couple days ago i took it out for a spin cause i live across the street from a highschool, *note* "fuel filter hasnt been changed yet" so, i get on it in first all the way to the floor, and im trying to put it under a load... so i shift into second... floor it and sput sput sput... so i let off, shift down and try again same thing over and over.... and im wondering what could it be, i dont kno much about mechanical work and etc... but i kno how to do it and kno alot about the engine already, ive been studying it alot and do have a book about the car... also the spark plugs, plugs, etc have been replaced... and no boost leaks at all, also Lol.... the piping that runs into the muffler is completely off... so ya.. no muffler.... sounds pretty mean actually, but i do kno the alternator is bad.. i tested it, and it needs to be replaced.... just looking for someone or somebody to tell me something i dont know already and the causes of the spuddering when under a load... thanks.... ill check back in a couple of days... getting the fuel filter replaced in 1-2days... dont have the fuel filter wrench thing to do it with... plus i dont wanna strip the threads out underneath it.... k, bye.... anything yall know of tell me... ill check it out (might be able to get pics too, so if needed ask for pics of things) :thumb: :dsm:

well, first off get that alternator replaced....they sometimes wont run that great with a bad alt since the alt can actually discharge the battery in some cases........also you may have a bad fuel pump from sitting for so long and or a bad ecu.....one thing to do is check for any error codes in the ecu wheather or not the check eng light has been on or not does'nt matter check for codes anyway, ok?......but yeah i would def do a fuel pressure test if it does'nt have any codes stored in it since that would be the next logical step. also you don't mention wheather or not the engine actually misses or not, let us know that also......remember "vague description=vague diagnoses":dsm:
