Here are the facts:
- '91 TSi with 60k on the car and ported Big 16g installed at 59.5k
- Used head with 54k put on at 59.5k and checked at machine shop first
- I fixed a leak at the oil sending unit, and found the car was still leaking so I replaced all of the seals on the t-belt side except the crank seal because I could not get the crank pulley bolt off with an impact wrench. I am positive that one of the camshaft seals was leaking that I hadn't replaced when I replaced the head.
- I replaced the pcv valve because my dipstick kept popping up and it stopped for a couple hundred miles and then started again.
- My exhaust is removed at the O2 housing and I am still getting boost creep at about 5k rpms. It creeps from 12-20 psi. It is all factory fuel components.
Questions:
- How in the world am I getting boost creep with a wide open exhaust, and what can I do to stop it???
- Why the hell is my engine still leaking like a seive after I replaced all of the seals? And don't tell me that it's the crankshaft seal because as far as I could tell, it was dry there and I could not get the pulley off to replace it anyway. Is it possible that the engine is building up too much pressure in the crankcase and the oil is getting forced by the seals? It was wet with oil on the inside of both camshaft pulleys, and on the bottom of the alternator after a 5 minute drive.
- Any help would be appreciated...or if someone wants to buy it off me for $4200, I would be happy to sell....I have more than that in it.

Sounds like your wastegate is not functioning right. Hook up an air compressor to it and put about 15 PSI on it (don't put high pressure, you'll break it.) Watch to see if it moves or not.

As for the oil leak, I had the oil pump shaft seal leaking one time, and it looked like it was leaking from the crankshaft. Food for thought.

I replaced the oil pump shaft seal, the balance shaft seal, the o-ring just above the oil pump pulley, and both camshaft seals....

To remove the oil pump shaft seal and the balance shaft seal, do you have to remove the front case first? And then if you remove the front case, must you remove the oil pan before that? Or is there an easier way to remove the seals?

No, you do not need to remove the front case. The seals are very easy to remove once you get in there. Simply take a tiny flat head screwdriver and pry them out.
