ok,well i was pulling out of autozone today after getting oil and it felt like i had the clutch all the way to the floor and just revving the motor up, but it was in first gear...so i rolled back in to autozone, popped the hood,my friend got out of the car, everything looked ok.then he looked under the car and when i did i pushed the clutch in we heard a loud "pop",and he looked towards the transmission and noticed that the slave cylinder basically fell apart, all the fluid came out and the piston, rubber boot, spring, and a green piece(i have no idea what that is) was layin on the ground from this...so my question is,what could have caused this?

I dont really have much knowledge of cars,so if you could, try to explain simply:D . Thanks alot.Shawn

what kind of clutch do you have in the car? sounds like the slave cylinder arm extended too much. check the clutch fork to see if it is bent or broken. if it is pull the tranny, shim the pivot ball with a washer no thicker than 1/16", it helps bring the clutch fork closer to the throw out bearing, because if you have a heavy clutch in the car, the fork could be using the transmission housing as a pivot if the fork is riding off the pivot ball in the transmission.
www.taboospeedshop.com has great information, as well as an aftermarket clutch fork. good luck.
