Clickety Click...CEL...Engine Abruptly Shuts Off...This Sucks:cry:

I've used the Search Feature to the fullest (almost), I really need some help guys. The Clickety sound (coming from ECU area) and engine shutting off deal has been going on for 2years of ownership and driving me nuts (I always was under the assumption that were suppose to drive the car not it drive us). I'm gonna check a few things I've found while searching but any suggestions would help. I'll check for battery grounding on the hood (unlikely since it'll do it it very low speeds like 1mph) and the grounding from the ECU to the fuel relay which some found to be there problems.

Is it possible that the starter relay needs to be replaced, I always thought the relay next to the ECU was the latter, come to find out that's the Fuel Relay. Weird thing about this problem is I would disconnect the neg. term. remove the computer and let the car sit for weeks, install the computer back in and she runs for months without shutting off and than bam the gremlin comes back to haunt me. I've done this twice with success unfortunately I haven't been able to triplacate the bandaid fix. Just before the car will shut off abruptly normally the CEL light will come on.

I hope, I hope for a solution........Aloha, Micah:talon: :thumb:

The ECU is fine, something I checked a long time ago, it was rebuilt buy a reputable company locally, that's the most obvious problem to look for when you have problems like this (I recently opened the ECU and no signs of leakage or discoloration anywhere, infact I was certain it was the ECU at one point in time, the shop that repaired it had to look at twice to convince me it wasn't the ECU). I've never looked at the ground leading to the fuel relay so something I will have to look into. I was told if you here noises like that, it's not the ECU, ECU doesn't have components to make clicking sounds, this was told to me by a shop that rebuilds ECU's on the Mainland USA.
