Boston area head gasket help

is there anyone out there that knows or does head gasket replacements. i took my car to my family mechanic and he said it was the head gasket leaking from the usual drivers side rear part of the engine. he really doesnt want to do it because its a hassle and he quoted me 500 bucks to do it. i would do it myself but i dont have the equiment/time for it. so if anyone has any info about a place/person that would do it for a reasonable price could you let me know.

wow! my car is in the shop right now getting a new headgasket put on i wish i could get it done for 500. Mine is going to cost like 850-950 but thats with the steel gasket an a set of arp head studs. If he will do it right, and u trust him i would go for the 500 bucks

yeah i think i will go with him and i guess also to make this thread more exciting what other stuff would be some good mods while the guy is in there replacing the head gasket. i know i want to get a metal gasket too.

make sure he uses the arp head STUDS and not bolts much easier on aluminum torquen' on a nut than a bolt ya know... hell might as well have him port the valves while its off because your going to pay 500 bucks to have the head taken off if u ever decide to do it again.

yeah thats very true. i just figured if im gonna have the head off mind as well put some other shit inside instead of havin to do it again later on. i mean if i get get just the head gasket for 500 mind as well spend like 800-1000 on more shit all at once. make it good for my upcoming turbo.
