i dont drive a dsm (altho if anyone is offering a free one, im taking donations) but i do drive a boosted car.

After my stock CBV decided to break recently, I opted to go with a 1g DSM bov. I finally recieved it today, and hastily got to work installing it. After getting it all situated and installed i had to mess with it somewhat to get it just right.... or so i thought. I had to crush it some to make sure it stayed closed at idel, and at this point it stays mostly closed.

My problem is that at from 8-10 PSI the bov opens and leaks boost. Do i have to crush the valve some more to make sure it stays closed? Anyone have any idea why it opens?

THANKS!

Well, stock it should hold fine into the upper teens of boost, and crushed low 20s easy. Yours must be messed up.

How much boost are your running?

How did you test it?

i tested it by driving with it.

see its not that its just opening, it for some reason opens from 8-10 psi, then closes back up passed that.

im running 16psi. i think im gonna bypass the quick release port, as i have a hunch that its allowing the diaphram to open.

I would test it with a boost leak tester. You can make one from vfaq.com, just make it to fit you turbo inlet. Thats the best way to test it.
