So, i go through lots of trouble to find out that my f****ing ecu has gone out after i have already replaced it. so now i have two burnt out ecu's. i just bought a reconditioned one from ecmtogo.com for $300 and i dont want this one to get burnt up because i simply dont have the money to spend and i need to drive. my second ecu birned up in a period of 3 hours-overnight, and got a lot worse by the next morning. to me this sounds like a surge of power that the caps cant handle and that is what makes them leak. where should i be checking for voltage, keep in mind i dont wanto run the car too much when i get the ecu because i dont want the new one burnt up. any suggestions would be awesome THANKS!!!!!!
 
I would check the resistances in the ISC coils. I understand that a short(low resistance) can cause the ECU to malfunction.
 
I remember a guy here on the board that had the same problem but I can not rememeber how he fix it but he did, his member name is board20over (I think) he is from Oklahoma) I will try and find the thread for you.

i also wanted to add that the section that tends to keep blowing on the ecu's is the injector area by the back capacitor when looking at an ecu. how do i fix "too much current draw" on an injector or transistor?
