Help reinstalling knock sensor.

I took out the sensor by 'feel' since it was cramped in there, not thinking theres more then one open hole in that general area:

This first picture shows the knock sensor installed in the 2nd hole, under the #2 runner. Seems a bit low doesnt it? Shouldn't it be closer to the head?

This next picture shows the sensor installed in the 3rd hole, under the #3 runner. This seems to be correct since its closer to the head, but I doubt it should be there since most people say its definetly under the #2 runner.

Seems like a silly question for me to ask, but I just want to be sure. The knock sensor I bought is reading as bad so I wanna make sure its the sensor and not my install.

I believe its should be under #2, but I dont remember there being that many choices on my block.

The knock sensor is hard to get to. There is a wire sensor coming from the back of it. The sensor itself, I do believe, is on the number 2 runner within the intake manifold bracket. I have to do my knock sensor and the easiest route to get to it is from underneath the car. I'm going to remove the intake manifold bracket for better access. I'm kinda nervous about doing it, don't want to screw anything up.

Yup you guys were correct. Its the first pic, so for those replacing your knock sensor on a 1G, thats how it would look like from under the car with the braket removed. For some reason I have to wiggle the connector plug to the knock sensor. If I hadn't had wiggled it before test driving, it would set off the CEL light as if the knock sensor was bad. Must be a loose connection somewhere but I'm no good and finding electrical issues.
