I went to my local dsm mechanic today and was told my car has rough(missing) idle because of a bad timeing belt job. Is there any way my car is idleing bad because of a bad t-belt job.
The car only runs bad at idle, when under normal throddle it runs perfect, when the car idles it make these pop sounds and sounds like arcing wires, the engine misses and sputters pops, snorts and almost dies, then give it gas and it is perfect. The car blows no smoke.
PLEASE HELP before I get a T-belt job done that I do not need. I hate trial and error crap.

That mechanic is a lying hound. There is no such thing as "a bad t-belt job". You can be a tooth off, but that doesn't call for a new belt job if your mileage is still under 40K on that belt.

Have you _tried_ new wires and plugs? Have you checked your plug gaps?
I hate trial and error crap.
Sadly, the greater part of wrenching on modern cars almost has to be.

Thanks a lot for the replys, What he was saying did not make any sense. And the guy that told me this is a serious dsm'er, I do not want to say to much, he's quite popular around these parts.
Anyway at what point do I take it to Satin?????????????????????????
I have replaced everything I can think of, plugs(gapped),wires,TPS,ISC motor, throddle body,EGR block plate etc..........

If one of you cam is a tooth off it can give these kinds of things...what they mean be a bad t-belt job is that the person that did it didn't line up everything where it is supposed to be. To check it you can look at your cams, there are two indentatons on them, when your car is a TDC they should line up exactly togather with that line at the same level as the top of the head under the valve cover.
hope that helps

When you say they may not have lined everything up correct ,are you saying that means being off a tooth, and if I was off a tooth would the car run bad(rough) at idle AND at normal speeds because the car runs perfect after 1200rpm all the way up to heavy throddle, it only runs rough at idle???????????

Also I think I may have an intake leak, I sprayed some carb cleaner around the back side of the injectors and it reved up and yes I made sure the mist was not hitting the intake air filter. Could this intake leak be my hole idle problem???????????????/
