Violent banging. (Try to guess.)

Alright.. Here's the scoop.

I was driving on the freeway when outta' the blue I start hearing and feeling this extremely loud banging from underneath my car. It was a constant noise so I thought it'd be a flat tires or bent rim. Went out and took a look at it and the rims/tires are fine. The loud azz noise seemed to be coming from the center of my front axle.

The noise goes away though whenever I'm going slower speeds. But once I hit 70 or so it comes back and scares the shit out of me. Also, my steering seems to be off. For instance, whenever I hit a bump it's hella rough (more than before) and my steering wheel jerks whichever way. Just recently I lowered my car about 1.5 inches and put 18s on them. I don't know if my stock shocks are blown or what.. This has really got me guessing. Please help!

Usually the strut will start to squeak before it does anything like that. I'm leading more towards a problem with the axle components.

you instal a camber kit? could be a ball joint i know my ball joint went bad i had a vibration but not a clunk at highway speeds. ur ur cv axle could be bent but i dont know if it owuld make a clunking noise
