since i got my car ive put about 1000 miles on it. i put a boost gauge on it and i noticed its running high boost (as high as 16, but usually 15) and low vac (sometimes 15, but mostly between 14 and 12) so i called the dealer cause they are also into modifying these cars. the guy asked me if all my hoses are connected (yes) and then he asked me if my oil pressure was normal (i think so, i said) and then tonight when i got home and it was sitting in my driveway at idle i noticed my oil pressure was really really low. it was like 1/16th away from the bottom line. when i revved it to like 3k, it went up to about 1/5 on the gauge, but very slowly.

now here is some information that might help.
mods:
3 inch straight pipes
cone intake
turbo xs recirc bov

weather:
about 20 degrees when the car is at 13-14 vac, but today it was 39 degrees and i got about 15 vac at idle.

i also noticed that i get compressor surge every now and then if i dont completely let up off the gas when i am partially boosting... is this normal? might my wastegate actuator be stuck?

i know this is a lot, but im trying to figure out what my oil pressure has to do with my vac and boost being all weird. im going to take the car in to have them look at it since it is under warranty, but i want to make sure there isnt something wrong with it and basically get a second opinion. thanks for taking the time to read this.

If your wastegate was leaking you wouldn't see higher boost levels. Basicly, it would take longer to reach whereever your boost is set. Do you have an MBC(manual boost controller) or an electronic? I would tend to believe that you have a boost leak somewhere in your system that isn't all that bad but tends to get worse in cooler weather. Time to do the leak test. As far as the oil pressure gauge, I pay very little attention to it as it is all over the map somedays. My 2 cents worth.

thanks for the reply. i dont have any boost controller, but i think i should get a MBC just to lock things in place. my car is actually at the dealership right now being checked out. they were all scratching their heads when i brought it in, so we shall see what happens.
