1G 1.8L won't start..

Okay, I recently bought a 1G Eclipse 1.8L for pocket cash ($80) from a friend of my family. The car was suppose to run great and go really well for a 1.8L, it has 153,xxx miles and was well taken care of, but it sat for a year before I bought it. The clutch is weak and I need to replace it, but I want the thing to start first before I spend $$$ on a new clutch. So here's the deal, I changed the oil, plugs, and plug wires the day I bought it. I'm running Valvoline Synpower 10w-30. We put a brand new Interstate battery in it and it won't even turn over. Nothing happens at all. No click. No whine. No crank. Nothing. When you hook up the battery, I can hear a wierd noise, I think it's just the computer resetting or something. All the interior and dash lights work, the radio works, everything electrical is fine as far as I can see. All the relays and fuses look good. But it won't start. So I take out the starter and it checks out fine. It still won't turn over. Is there a chance the ECU has leaked and gone bad? I don't even know where to get a new ECU if that's it. What the hell is wrong with my Eclipse?

hey,
theres fuses up on the positive battery terminal , make sure they are not blown or loose or anything... check for corrosion and all that also.. If everything else gets power i would think a wire some where has bin chewed up. its really hard to tell whats rong cause i can't actually see the car. hope this helps

already checked them... the only thing i haven't checked is all the grounds...

Okay, here's the deal. I changed the starter and got the car to crank. Now it just won't start. Should I check the fuel pump or is there something else I can do first? Is there something I could have missed??

Is it getting any spark? if so check for if your getting fuel. if the pump is pumping gas but the INJECTORS aren't spraying i would say its your ecu, But check all the basics.
to check to see if the ecu is bad do this test.
