weird engine noise???

I have a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST. I have recently Upgraded my Turbo to a 20G Turbo and added RC Injectors 550 cc, a highflow walbro fuel pump, Injen Intake, Greddy Big 24R FMIC, Greddy Upper and Lower IC pipng, 3" Down Pipe and Full Thermal Exhaust , and a Apexi SAFC Controller.

Since then when ever I am hearing a weird noise, not so much at idle, but then ever you give the car gas or rev. the motor, it sound like viberation reed noise. Kinda Like when you put trading card in the spokes of your bike.

I can't determine where the noise is coming from.. It seems like the noise is coming from all over the motor I have had 4 people over my house even one was an Auto. Mechanic to try to pin point the location of the noise with no sucess.

It sound like it's coming from the fuel injector area at times or in that area. other times in other places. It's hard to pin point.

I don't know if it has to do with a bad fuel air ratio? I have installed the SAFC Controller, but don't know how to tune it? I thought that might be where it is coming from but dunno?

I tried to drive the car, but the car has no power? no get up and go at all. and the noise is louder when you try to drive it.

If you have any idea's or know what I can do? or what to look for?

Are all the sparkplugs tight? Is the timing belt right? How does the boost gauge look? Anything strange?

Yes, all plugs are new and tightened as well as the timing belt. the timing belt was done about one month ago. and I had no problems with the car at all before I did all this work to the car.

How ever I did notice the car is running rich and is blowing out black smoke when you step on the gas.

I assume the car is over fueling and that might be the problem..

I dunno if that is the problem or if it has to do with the Apexi SAFC Controller.. and the settings on it.. I just hooked it up but dunno how to adjust it? If you have any idea on what might be causing the noise I would appreciate any info or how to adjust the SAFC thanks...

You need to lean the fuel with the safc. Your stock ecu is designed to run 450cc injectors so if you run a 550 at the same duty cycle, It will inject a lot more fuel hence the black smoke.

My balance shaft is hitting the inside of the block...hense the noise when you give the car gas! Metal shavingings in the oil.. my engine is through!
gotta relpace the short block.. mama no!!!!!

o man 99 car and already shiat o well sorry to hear that.I'll never buy me DSM again that for sure.See if I had a garage with lots of tools and I had lots of experiance with engine work and all this kinda staff I would have DSMs but since im not all that,NO tx.I'll keep my N/A for now and after the summer I'll go for S14 and the ppl that will do the swap and tune are verry good at it and their shop is located 5 min away from my house.and all the job will be cheaper then buing a 99 turbo DSM.

my car has the same problem need a new balance shaft or you can just take it out and get more power. Its not a big deal and not bad for the car just annoying as hell. does it just make the noise at like 5500 give or take a 1000
