Went out last night and snapped off a few shots of the DSM named Phoenix. Nothing special, just finally had time to get some pics with the freshly refinished wheels I had done a couple of weeks ago. The color is custom, called "Almost Black" basically you take black and dump in a large amount of silver flake and get this black but not black with more sparkles than Crest toothpaste. They turned out decently. Heres the pics.

Thanks guys. I didn't do the wheels myself, I just prepped them for paint. I sent them over to my old buddy Will's Autobody shop in Norwalk. They were originally white wheels off a 93 n/t. I would like to stick a full set off stock lights in and see how they look once I get a new set of full fronts.

Stop bothering me! LOL

Let me ask you this: What do you want from your rims? You had those gargantuous rims before, and now you're back to OEM. I would (have) like(d) to see something in between. Just my opinion. Com'on, I love subtlety.

What's the tread? Still rockin' the Falkens?

i like that its nice i wish mine looked that good i hope mine should look that good soon

That's a really nice color. I just got into powdercoating, maybe I'll coat my intercooler pipings in the same color :thumb:.

Well, what I want to end up on is a wide 17" wheel with an aggressive radial tire, fairly sticky. That is a ways down the road so I don't have any specific set picked out. My wheels/tires seem to have gotten put on the back burner, thats why I picked these guys up for next to nothing.

The tires are some old ass Goodyear GH P's, and one oddball LOL. I don't run the Falkens on the street because of my welded center differential. I'm definately going for subtly here nowadays. :thumb:

Looks beautiful. I love the shaved trim along the side. I have seen it photoshopped a couple of times but yours is the first real example I have seen. Mad props. :rocks:

Thanks! It was my vision when I bought the car. Smooth to the the sideskirts... It took quite a bit of work to get it and the MASSIVE dents in the quarters looking decent. Still needs work though, let me be the first to tell you its not perfect. I did do the bodywork myself, I did not spray the final color on though.

Thank you. It took a lot of time and effort to get this thing looking the way it does. For reference the blue car and the black car in my gallery are the same car. The photos of the black car were taken on the day I bought it in 02'. Still have the final paint job to go!

I really like the color of the wheels too. The flake in the sunlight is impressive. I think the color would look great on some IC piping.

Car looks great man! As far as the pics go, I'm no pro, but have you tried a tri-pod? Just asking, ### the top few are a little blurred to me...

love the car!!! love the ass end :D 2gb bumper and lights?

Yep, 1gb rear end. I also really like the later Laser rear.

A tri pod would actually work out well I suspect. I thought the pics turned blurry because the outragous humidity, (you could see a fog), but this could be why too. Thanks!

Car wise? Love it.

Photo wise? If it is humid outside, set your camera out for 15-20 mins before shooting. Temps will equalize. I'd never get anything shot in Jamaica if it weren't for this "trick".

Thats a great tip Lando, I never thought about that. I leave the camera inside wherever as long as I can. I started doing this after my memory card died spending the day in my backseat during a track rental, losing all my pictures. :coy: I think the "warm up" is the way to go. LOL
