Hey guys, Finally got my car running after a year of slacking off. Anyway, been having many issues, first the starter wouldn't engage, fixed that. Then on the first 4 miles my power steering pulley came off :( Anyway just replaced the belt and downloaded evoscan. Got a cable for dsmlink but I think I need an adapter for it to work with evoscan. 3 known to work from my searching.

1. Keyspan adapter
2. Belkin
3. Cables unlimited

Now, my question is, has anyone of you locals, or anyone else had any success with a different brand? I live in Portland, OR and I just visited radio shack, the guys said someone already tried the cable they had and it didn't work (said he had the same car as me)

Just Buy the Keyspan Adapter and use it with dsmLink:idontknow:, Assuming you don't have a Com port
Not sure why your wanting to use Evoscan and not just log in Link FYI - you also can log v2 with V3 ecmlink

Edit ...
Do you still have your 99 ecu? or are you running Dsmlink like in your profile?
if you still have you 99 ecu I'd just get a OpenPort 2.0 with Full Adapter Set w/CAN support:eBay Motors (item 360196835995 end time Nov-08-09 08:54:20 PST) You will need a Openport 2.0 cable to use Evoscan and can also use it to Flash your 99 Ecu(If its flashable) with EcuFlash

I do have dsmlink but am running my 99 ecu to break it in. Complete newb to tuning and Aaron at Lucas said it's best to just have it as stock as possible for the break in. That's why I'm using the stock ecu, and stock injectors right now to break it in. I'm just concerned because I do have the FP2 cams and a full megan exhaust, I just want to monitor some stuff so I don't blow it up. I am a worry wart.

Well tried a generic one from a local computer store, my computer wouldn't even read it LOL. Anyway going to Frys tomorrow to pick up a belkin one.
