Is it just me, or are DSMs more expensive up here? I have been looking around for project 2g cars, and they sell for as much as running ones in other parts of the states. And whenever people post what they paid for stuff, it seems cheaper than everything up here. I think it's because they are more rare up here, but maybe it's just me. Just my thoughts... Didn't know if I was just looking in the wrong places or whatnot...

What kind of prices are you finding? I flew out to Boise to get my dsm, sometimes it is worth looking outside of the state too.

I live in North Carolina and flew down to Florida to get my car - but I HATE rust.....

I have never seen a shortage of 1g or 2g's in the PNW...as far prices go maybe we value our cars more than other people??? I know me personally I would'nt sell my 1g for anywhere near blue book even if was completely stock, but that's just me...
BTW I bought my first Dsm in Montana ...for less than $1500 & and it had only 81k on it sometimes you just find a deal...I've seen a few cars with that kind of mileage go for thousands more than book, hell last year I found out about a 1 owner 1g that had 50k original miles still smelled like a new car at an auction in seattle ....It just neaded a ecu, ended up sellin for $1200 I seen it on craigslist for $7500 Two weeks later...I couldn't make it up there for the auction I was kicking myself for that one

sometimes you do find a good deal, i bought mine for $3100 with all the mods that are listed in my profile which is quite a bit of mods , I could easily part my car and make more than i paid for it:thumb: ............ BUT IM NOT GOING TO

If you are mechanically inclined you can put a car together with very little cost. I got a 93 talon awd with a blown motor for 500. It had an eprom, 4 bolt, leather(clean), and many other items. That was a little spendy too. But I wanted that year. Oh and it had the suspension done and new wheels and tires. So with that said. If there is a will there is a way. This is good especially if you plan on buying a lot of upgrades. There is a 97 talon awd down here for 2750. He even had it posted for 1700 at one point. 1997 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD Turbo (MAKE OFFER!!!)

Funny shit! I was looking into it too. College puts a strain on the pocket book. What school you going to Panda? I'm going to PCC and MHCC right now.

That guy had it up for 1700 with engine issues then changed it to 5k and then dropped from there. NO AND THEN!! LOL!!ROFL

I was actually looking at that car myself. So is that the story? He had it for 1700 with engine issues, then 5k? That makes me a little worried... Maybe offer him 2k? I have a friend down there. A couple actually... One of them is quit the shark at vehicle bargaining.

He emailed me and said it was bone stock minus the turbo timer. A $500 timer he said... I guess I'd prioritize my spending a little differently.

That is probably the best deal right now. There was one in Boise I really wanted. Had a bunch of mods with a bad 2nd gear. And that is no problem for me to fix.

Keep me posted guys. I want back in the game. My dream find-

2g
bunch of mods
6 bolt would be sweet

Blown tranny and the guy is asking under 2k. Or more if the mods were worth it.

Feel free to email me if you know of something.

I'm in Ellensburg WA.

Offer him 1700. That is what he had it posted for. He never states that he fixed that issue. He is desperate to sell it. Good luck finding all those mods. The only problem with finding one like that is who did the work, how did he drive it, etc. I would try and get the cheapest deal and add your own parts. Then you know it was done right. Let me know if you need any help after you get a car. You might want to hurry on that deal, because I am thinking of throwing him an offer. I wouldn't mind a DD and a track car. And I have a 6 bolt that I could build and put in it. HMMM. I will let you have first dibs if you want it.

Looks like it's gone... not on craigslist and I was going to move on it today... Ah well..

I'll make your seem like the deal of the day cause I would not part ways with mine for less than 10k. Some may think I am crazy thinking that for a 90 but I know I have way more than that in reciepts and if I could not get what I want for it. It will stay in the garage and play with liter bikes on the weekends.:D

damn 8k and 10k i have never paid more than 1k were im from cause most of the people around here are old people and honda boys that have ZERO intelligence about a dsm, hell they dont ever know what awd is all 7 of mine have been damn near mint just with popped motors from boost cranking newbz.
