so i have to do a rebuild and i am starting a theater to keep you guys up to date.the build i am doing is just a stock rebuild and i am going to clean up the engine bay and the motor and get it ready for new paint i am going to be painting the car in summer.

Are you going to paint the entire care one color? What color are you going to change it to?

1 spun rod bearing and possibly 2 spun mains. If the mains are spun, it would probably be cheaper to source another short block.

i am going to be painting the car nighthawk pearl black.i am replacing it that is just the one i had when i was trying to get the car running.

why should i just get a new block?i got a set of rods and pistons for free and i am getting a new crank i got all the other new parts thay will be here tomorrow the block is still good.

PS,it was all the mains the rods were ok.

If the mains spun, the block needs to be align honed. The cost usually exceeds the price of a replacement block. If the rod bearings didnt spin(obviously 1 did), there is no reason to replace them. Used rods can be checked, resized, and reconditioned.

ok cool thanks for the info motor gose in the shop monday and i am thay siad 1 to 2 weeks tell it is all done and i will get a bear short block back and i will put all of it back together

took the parts to the shop today going to get it bored .20 over and i am geting 2g pistons with 1g rods and having them put a bear short block together and i had them take the head and clean it up and replace the velve seals should be done in 2 weeks

my plans are to just keep this motor some what stock may be add some bolt on's nothing big.when i start working i will be planing on building a motor that will make big numbers but i did junk the pistons i got for free and got 2g pistons brand new and i am boring it over .20 it is just going to be a DD dont want big power dont have the money to do anything big to it any ways
