Hey I'm looking for a decent aluminum wleder in the Seattle area. I am getting my FMIC setup together. I just have TB elbow and piping left. I was hoping to find an HKS TB elbow but cant find one for the life of me. So I was thinking about using a 1g elbow, cutting off the tube leaving the flange and having an elbow welded on from the piping kit I'm going to be getting. My intercooler should be showing up any day now, but I still have a couple weeks on the other parts.

Side note, I found a farging huge intercooler 40x10x3, the core is 33" wide. The 2.5" outlets make a 90* bend to the rear and should fit perfectly in front connecting to the stock sidemount location on the cool side and then I am going to run the piping around near the oil filter housing and out to the front on the hot side. I was hoping to do a writeup with pics, I don't think anyone has used this intercooler design on a DSM before.

My new massive FMIC just arrived:rocks: It's way bigger than I will ever need, but for what I paid for it, $86 shipped, I figured what the hell. I thought I would post some picts, while I'm waiting for the last pieces.

Thanks! I've been trying to get an idea on the specs since it appears to be a one off custom by ADFX. Going to the Bell Intercoolers website, the only place that I can find a core that size, it says it should flow 1714 CFM. I think that puts it in the 800hp+ range.

Yeah may be small issue for now. Eventually though I should be able push my turbo way out of it's efficiency and still keep things cool. Still it's an MHI EVO316g, when I finally get my 3" turbo back and my porting done at the same time, lag really shouldn't be an issue. Ultimately for the price I figured I would leave room for improvement rather than doing things twice.

Well, got some more parts today so I decided pull the bumper. I couldn't help setting it in place and taking a pic. Routing's going to be a little bit harder than I thought, because of the parts are different than what was described, but I'll get it figured out.

So I got my IC hard mounted today. Made a new latch support, bent the PS cooler and the AC hard lines. I though everthing was working out great with the IC mounting tabs seemingly made for a DSM, not quite. When I got the bumper cover back the bottom sits way too low and the area around the end tanks need trimming. So I have to redo my upper support bracket. Bend the lower tabs 90* so it mounts in front of the cross member instead of under it. My goal of not hacking the car is going to have to be compromised a little by trimming the the area around where the outlets curve around the frame, otherwise I wont have room for couplers. More parts to come next week.

Well I trimmed my bumper today after bending the tabs and getting the IC into its final position. The IC now sits up behind the cover. The angle of the outlets that I thought was going to be a problem, work out perfectly with the IC tilted forward at about the same angle as the latch support. The outlets are now level with the ground. The reason why it doesn't look level is the cover still needs about an 1/8" trimmed on the drivers where it still hits the end tank.

You can't really see it, but I punched holes in the upeer cover where the black fake holes used to be. With the IC now restricting a lot of airflow, I deceided that adding holes would be a prudent measure that and I always hated those fake holes. Also to help out with the cooiling I am using 4 10" fans. 2 in front and 2 in back. Each rated at 1200 CFM. This is a little overkill but I don't trust eBay flow rates. Even if the only move 800 CFM I will still exceed the stock fan ratings. I guess I will find out when the fans and my new air filter show up tomorrow.

Well my fans arrived. I got them mounted. I just need to figure out which way I'm going to have them switched. I'm also trying out a new air filter. It's an Accel Kool Blue (lame name) I got for $25 shipped similar to the K&N I used to have on another Talon, sorry no pics. I needed to get rid of the nasty Fram that came with the car and find a lower profile filter for the weird ass 60mm UICP that I got.

Oh crap I just realized looking at the picts that I didn't flip the fan blades on the pushers:coy:

Oh yeah I bought an EPROM today, $45 shipped. eBay kicks much arse! Planning on socketing it myself and going with Ostrich Emulator, then either tunerpro or DSMAP.
