I was pokin around and seen a section for us NW guys I have 99 Gs, I live in or around Vancouver and I need some Diagnostic/Repair work done. I have a post on the problem
here:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=195101
Been messing with it for some time and its just beyound my capiblities I was just curious if any one had suggestions for a garage where it could get fixed, or if you think you or anyone you know could fix I will pay or trade I have a big shop at my house with 2 post and LOTS of tools and I do nice fab work (steel) maybe trade? Post or PM me.:dsm:

i dont know how familiar you are here, but you a couple places..

1) Lucas English, good guy to take ## car too, very knowledgable

2) RRev Motorsports

3) TorqueFreaks

all these guys know their shit on dsm's

-az-

Lucas English is that a shop if so what is the address?

Pina motorsports is also close by, they specialize in dsm's too. And just recently did a project 420a, so they have some insight on the n/t motor as well.

I believe they are in the Kent/renton area

I might recommend Pina Motorsports if your in the Seattle/Kent area. I've know the shop manager, Andre, down there for awhile. They've done some good work and some bad work. A year ago when Nick still worked there I wouldn't mind bringing my car in, now it seems like they got a bunch of new guys who don't know what their doing. Too bad, I liked bringing my car there once in awhile, last time I did they screwed up some electrical and I ended up paying $300 to replace a perfectly good coil. Once I got the car home I determinded the problem in less than an hour and fixed it with pliers. Real piss off.

Must admit, the rebuilt dual-syncro 2g tranny they installed works great, but I doubt I'll be bringing my car there anymore until they get some better guys...

Yeah Actually I'm closer to Portland I'm like SW Washington so Kent is atleast a coulpe of hours away, and that would be an expensive tow:dsm:

give lucas a call. He is moved into his new shop now and you will probably need to schedule something with him since he is been pretty busy lately. also since you mentioned needing a tow he has a car hauler and can pick your vehicle up. I dont know his rates off hand but I paid around 75 for him to pick my car up from the hazel dell area

Yeah actually I'm taking my car out to his shop tomorrow

Has there been any updates on decent shops?

I was all set to call pina tomorrow, but after reading this thread I am not sure? Are we 100% sure that all of the knowledge people at pina have indeed left?

After reading a bunch of different threads on here I feel more confused then informedROFL

pina's the $hit!, don't go to pina!, english racing is great!, go to anybody but english!.....

I can't make heads or tails of this!

I am in the PullmanWA area and am looking for a very knowledge shop to help me fix help my baby's issues, which might require a new short block and extensive diagnisising capabilites for some low psi knock issues.

What have experiences been with there short block rebuilds.....after looking at there website it certainly looks like they know what they are doing, but now I am not so sure...

Has any one on here had them do a rebuild?

How capable are there at diagnosising issues?

Thanks for the space

Happy boosting!

Shawn

Ive been around for a few years, and have dealt with Lucas all the time, hes a very knowledgable guy and is very nice to deal with. I havent heard one bad thing about him. Id be very suprised to see a negative thread about his work. Ive never dealt with Pina, I know Andre is a master of fabrication work and I have seen his car make great power.

I had a complete rebiuld done by lucas. No complaints other than the price was a little high but the work was done top notch.

I find it funny that people call $50/hr a high price. Have you been to TQfreaks or Race Deszign? I remember a few shops charging $85/hr.

Absolutely! $50/hr is nothing, plus, when it comes to Lucas you get what you pay for!!!! Though it might seem "expensive" to us DSM'ers it is worth EVERY penny! His work is the best out there!

Yeah $50/hr is cheap, that's about what I charge for working on local dsm's.

These guys (English Racing) are the ones who fixed my car they knew their stuff even though it was a NA car they were fast it was pretty refreshing not to screwed for an auto repair bill for once.

Glad to hear it! Also remember he doesn't mind referral business:thumb: !

It was not the 50/hr price that was high for me. I think Lucas did a top notch job on my car and I would do it all over again. I am not going to go into details but the job did go over budget but like I said before I would do it all over again and I will be getting him to do my tranny soon.
