Aftermarket intercooler smog!

have you guys smog your car with an aftermarket intercooler. My brother HAD the cali car law book but lost it. I remember reading that any car that came factory turbo charger with an intercooler is okay to have it! Anyone wants to chime in. That was passed sometime beginning in 09.

Also my nephew had an exhaust on his gst spyder and he passed smog with it. Is it okay to be driving around with it or can state ref okay it because it passed smog so cops can lay off your back and you can drive around without worrying? Another thing I remember is that as long as it pass that 96 or 103, can't remember decibel sound test it's okay?

Will it kind of get's confusing now. It says turbocharger system. Say swapping a t25 to 16g. It's kind of debatable with an exhaust!
There was another note on another page I read on my brothers book that says something about exhaust noise.

i been to state ref before hahahahahah. i had on a big exhaust about 4 to 5 inch tip my fist would fit in with gap. i also had on a greddy fmic short route(dont know if it makes any difference). the only thing that they wont let me pass smog was because i had on a hks ssq bov. i had to use stock upic piping with stock bov to pass. my fmic was still on the car running. as for the exhaust i dont really remember but my guess was 103 when he tested my exhaust. just get a resernator for the exhaust and it will quiet it down, beside in fresno theres so many rice rockets there i dont think cops will pull you over. anyways good luck on your smog

Thanks man. Yeah, they mostly target hondas because of theft and stolen parts. I have yet to see a dsm pulled over.
