Post your hobbies

I build computers and pole vault. Recently picked up jav too. Im working on being able to hit a poster of robo cop from 100 feet away, getting pretty darn close.

anyone else got any cool/barbaric hobbies?

I also picked up a model car, but thats no where near as cool as throwing pointed metal objects as far as you can

good thing Im so paranoid about this 2400 dollar peice of shit I lock my door whenever I leave it home alone. Last computer my parents are ever buying me, LOL

I play a little piano, juggle a little and do some B&W photography from time to time.

Lately I've been working on setting up a good garage space for the DSM and my biodiesel project, and started learning a relatively obscure language called Malayalam.

I also try to use tstkl's computer when he's not around.

Brandon, I'm gonna have to talk to you when it's time for me to get a bike. I've been trying to save for a 600rr for 2 years now but I keep dumping money into the dsm. Maybe in a year or so I'll finally get one. Sad that I've had my license for over a year and still no bike

That's the bike I have now, I traded it for my supermoto straight across. Supermoto is way more fun, I'm a hooligan at heart.

My old bike (supermoto)

I'm a gamer, PC, all the consoles, and some on my laptop. I custom built my desktop. I also love RC cars, model rockets, and snowboarding but I hardly do them.

My new hobby is the 05 Evo I just picked up.

Amateur web design / programming (visit my site!!) and some graphic design too. I also write reviews for role-playing games for the website and I'm really into mixed martial arts. Heavy into electronics as well, whether it's building computers, installing modchips, etc.

Those were the things I liked to do; that is until I got the DSM. :D
Keeps me really busy and distracted!

I just picked up my first pistol and did some shooting! It's a springfield xd-.40s&w bitone.
In the picture, the small dots are the size of quarters and i shot 10 shots each at those, then the rest were 5 shots at the different chalk circles i drew. I even managed to hit 5 shots in less than 5 holes a few times (without missing the target!)

Of course ive got the DSM
And ive been getting into sporting clays with my friends lately, pretty much practice for next years dove hunting season sept.1 , then my favorite season - waterfowl season in oct-jan. I'll probably get a new shotgun for next season after i upgrade the turbo on the dsm and get into 11's.

My year usually consists of two seasons. Racing season March- Nov(ish) and hunting season Sept-Jan. There is a little overlap depending where im racing, and what condition my car is in, but the downtime is usually time to prep for one of the two seasons.

I do other random BS too, kick it with my girlfriend, drink and hang out with friends, all the usual 21-year-old stuff.

Ive got a full time job now as a stationary engineer and am going to take the apprenticeship test soon and will hopefully be an apprentice by next december. The job takes up a bunch of my time so i usually unwind by drivin the dsm to the pistol range on weekdays, and shoot clays or hunt on weekends. And race every chance i can (on the track of course :sneaky:)

There's a Hangout area for general off-topic stupidity. Don't use a Regional Forum for it.

how else can we find new local friends with similar hobbies? Im sure if someone wanted to know what every dsm'r in the usa's hobby was, they would post it in the hangout, but if they might be interested in what a local person does, they would post it in the local forum...

What if I was just getting into shooting and someone posted up that they liked shooting too, I could PM them and ask em for local ranges and advice and they might enlighten me on where are good places to go and where to find deals. I might make a new friend! I cant ask someone in omaha nebraska the best range to go shoot cans and watermelons at and where the cheapest .40 s&w rounds are in the bay area.

It makes more sense for us to network locally. I could honestly care less what someone on the east coast has to say about some things, because its not local and not relative to me. If you disagree thats fine, if its against the rules, we really cant complain, but as long as we arent going 4 pages of posting youtube videos makind fun of each other i think you should let some stuff slide. If its relative to norcal, it should be allowed.

We should be able to have a "Norcal Hangout" and then all of the random threads would be consolidated to one thread.

My DSM's are my hobby.
My job revolves around bicycles.
Then again, sometimes I make a few bucks on the side from working on DSM's, so it's also like a part time job.
And I also enjoy a good bike ride, so bikes are also my hobby.

T9S1i: Where do you usually shoot clay at? I know they have a place right across the street from where I live on Lake Merced.

Just wondering where else in the bay they do that.

Yup i shoot clays right there. There is also a spot down past san jose that is in the hills that is really fun you can rent golf carts and drive around and go to a bunch of different stations and whatnot. But mainly i go to the rod and gun club at lake merced.

800 yard line. SVSC.

leet!, remember i was asking you for advice on the xd 40 in the hangout? Check out my groupings above on my first time out with it. Shooting at 7 yards.

Thats crazy, i cant even see your target! Id love to do some long range rifle shooting. Ive always wanted to try it since i was a kid!

That sort of thing is not only good, it's encouraged. Posts to that effect are left intact. Is Chavez's deleted "I like girls" post any more than just stupid? Will he ever face-up (or, face-down, perhaps) to his obvious latent inclinations?

Hobbies are cool. Sightings are cool. Facing Moderators with your issues is cool. Being a dumbass just for the disturbance of it isn't.

It doesn't matter. It's only the internaweb. Every couple of weeks, we have a user or two who decides their hobby is going to be coming on to DSMtuners and trying to stir up shit.

Keeping the vat from slopping onto the floor is my hobby.

There's a reason DSMtuners is amongst the twenty best car sites on the whole damned web, and it has nothing to do with the moderation. It's the user base we have. :rocks:

Ok cool, i thought you were responding to the whole thread... Then i wondered why it wasnt closed and responded to your statement. I didnt know it was a response to a deleted post (that i never saw). Makes sense now.

Yes! let the thread go on!
