Hi, im looking for someone in or around the Bay that can help me rebuild my 1g 6bolt block. Ive never rebuilt a block before and i want someone with good experience to build it for me so i can learn. All i want is to replace is the rings .20 over, rod/main bearings, arp everything and eliminate balance shafts. The block is already out of the car, all i have to do is order everything and find someone to help me. So if you know how to build a 4g63 the right way and want to make some extra CASH hit me up.

why are you rebuilding the block without new components. why not replace the pistons and rods while you are at it. no point in having to tear the motor apart in the future again.

who is doing the machine work on the car. do you have all the tools to complete this project? i assume you're going to put all new timing components and a new headgasket and all other gaskets.

im kind of on a budget right now. I just want to make the car reliable. Im having a local shop bore the block .20. Im going to inspect the rods/pistons for wear if i have to replace then i will, but if theyre still good then i will keep them. im thinking of buying oem pistons from parts dino but i want to hear more info on them. im just looking for some reliability for now, and later ill rebuild for more power. im only looking for 350-400 whp so i dont need aftermarket internals yet. I have alot of tools, is there any special tools required for puting a motor together? yes i have a brand new oem head gasket and ill replace all other gaskets/seals while im in there. So can anyone help me?

if youre going to have the motor apart, you might as well get as much done as you can. no point in spending more money down the line just to tear apart the block again to change something.

do it once, do it right

also, how much are you planning to spend on parts and labor?

however much it takes. Look if anyone wants to make some extra cash and has experience and can help me just PM me or hit me up on aim (thizzdoubt) and we can discuss this further. like i said i have cash if u can help

like nat said, don't do things twice.

and like brandon said...now that you've bored out the motor...you need new pistons...might as well go eagle rods. they aren't much money and they will hold on for a while.

plus if you want 350-400whp...you should build your block. if not, i wish you the best of luck hitting that. at minimum at least have a metal head gasket and arps.

if youre on a budget, why are you saying however much it takes? In that case why dont you just take it to a reputable shop that you know you can count on, instead of paying an amatuer to put your motor together.

i am on a budget. but i will pay whatever it takes to make the car reliable. Going all out and replacing everything with aftermarket internals that can take 700hp isnt making the car anymore reliable than it would being stock. And unlmtndeavor, since when do you need to build a 4g63t to make 350whp? look i have a 6 bolt w/big rods so ill check them for straitness and what not make sure there ok if not then i have no choice but to replace them. im probably gonna go ahead and just buy new piston/rings and all the other things i listed earlier and just build that. so if theres anyone who has good knowledge of building
4g63's and u want to make some money PM me. on the Flipside, does anyone know some bay area shops that can build it for me? preferably a dsm shop, but just throw me some options besides full function because i pm'd them and they havent got back to me yet.......

go ahead and roll your eyes at me...but don't get mad at me when you go do dyno and you don't put down 350whp. maybe my standards are just high...but i assumed pump gas. race gas that's a different story...but you did say dependable..and by that i assumed you mean a daily driver. it's not absolutely necessary to built it to hit 350whp...but the chances you can do that on stock internals is pretty low. no one ever told you do to a 700whp buildup...i would have just simply suggested wiseco pistons and eagle rods...what i still consider a budget buildup.

the guys in the bay area can vouch for me...i'm not a noob with these cars and i've seen many different setups. i am just giving you suggestions based on what i see daily.

also...if you plan on going 350whp...get a metal head gasket...ditch that oem one. and...who's machining your block. are you decking your head as well?

may i also ask...what other mods do you plan to do to get that goal of yours.

*if you need to get a hold of full function, your best bet is to call them. they are a very busy shop and don't have much time to sit online and answer pm's. i recommend calling in the morning before it gets too busy.

not trying to be a dick....just a realist.
