May meet for the bay!!

well after the sucess, well relative success of the last meet I have decided to start a thread about next months meet and actually put time into getting this organized. And well my car should be ready tonight(knock on wood) so I am anxious to have everyone see it after being down for nearly half a year. So Let's see let's get some ideas thrown up for everyone.

Since we had the last meet in the south bay how about we have the next meet in the east/south bay?? I was thinking at the mccarthy ranch center. Specifically the in and out there. What is everyone's opion? It has a huge parkign lot food at in and out, tapioca shakes if you are into that stuff Just a suggestion so let's hear what you all got. I only get to use the net on the weekends so ill won't be on here everyday postin glike usual.

Zach, what's up. Well, after some people left from the this month's meet, we decided to head out to In & Out down Blossom Hill. Most of the guys were interested in having some sort of cruise. I really don't know the highways or possible trails to drive around but a couple of people had some suggestions. I don't know how the Stinson Beach drive is, but the guys mentioned they didn't want to have one like that since that one is going to happen soon. I suggested possibly cruising to a spot to meet up with the Stockton area guys, but it is too early to really say anything is certain. This is just my idea. Guys, please post any ideas. I really want to go to next month's meet, so let's plan now. I have a lot of things going on (college graduation), so my weekends are going to be filled with doing group projects. If we plan now, hopefully I can get around the school work stuff.

Oh, and another thing, I wonder if the other guys from the Bay Area feel left out? Let's hear some opinions, I sent messages to local San Jose guys but it seems maybe other members in the other areas would like to attend. Someone mentioned starting a mailing list so people would know when something is going to go down, is there already a mailing list? Maybe we should start a yahoo group for a mailing list if there isn't one. And if there is, maybe start an updated one.

I don't know, these are my suggestions. If anybody wants to put their input (meet, what to do, when, whatever), please post!

Wats SUP! Well I was at the Q-cups meet last month. It was pretty cool, too bad i didn't have my car. Unfortunately, my car is still out, so i have to tag along with a friend of mine.

I didn't get to make it out to the last meet. A friend of mine went out, he was excited about it because he just got his intercooler installed. haha.. he said it was a koo turnout.

Well I just wanted to say, im down for anything, cruise, chill, watever. Im always down to meet fellow dsmers.

Anyways, I say we should have a meet for all Bay Area DSMTuners. We can all meet in some place that is close enough for all of us to get to. Good idea or no? Just an idea but where ever we are meeting, like I said, I'm always down. Oh, unless I have work but if we plan now I can probably get it off. A cruise would be good or maybe another meet-n-eat. Let's see if we can top the last 2 meets, in terms of number of people/cars, at this next meet.

WHATS UP BAY AREA DSM'ers
I'm having a meet this friday at FOOD 4 LESS off of I-5 DOWNING AVE. you are all welcome to come and hang out with us. I'll talk with some of the guys to see if they want to meet up. If not will you guys be willing to come down and hang out, its cool out here we never even had problems with the cops. They came by where we were hanging out and drove right passed us. I don't know thats my suggestion to try and get more DSM'ers to hang out.

Where are you getting your work done?

i was getting it done at a friends shop, full function go there if you need anythign done the work is top0 notch and the wait is usually not like this but parts kept not comming and then when i really needed my car to be done for a deadline it just happened to be the same time he was moving locations so it was a combonation of things. I finally got it back and it runs great but the turbo is blown thanks to me trying to save a few dollars and buying used . Oh well I will be at the next meet for sure, with the car.

WEll the stinson meet is a long long drive an hour and a half at least but its really fun and really beautiful because you drive ont he cliffs along the coast in the north bay its really nice. I know a couple of highway routes I like to cruise on but they are usually long and fast paced but I am down for anything(once I get my engine borken in). Ill check back on this thread soon.

nate the one that just graduated from sequia institute and is about to start the bmw tech training?? if so yes. Bernie sounds familiar but I am not good with names so who knows. Full function actually moved move south they are in union city now the new shop is great.

It seems taht the most dsmers are in the south bay, south/east bay with a few in the penninsula and a couple in the north bay.

What about in dublin (where 580 crosses with 680) or is that too far north...everyone seems to be attached to "in and out" and there is one out in dublin/san ramon area. If not, then I'll have to get a day off or something to make it out, anyways I'll keep watching what's going on and see how it goes.

Oooo...this is off topic, but if anyone knows about fixing idles and adjusting timing and wouldn't mind driving out to pittsburg and helping me, that would be great. I've tried everything in the book as far as i know and nothing is fixing it, and its causing my car to not pass smog, which might be another reason why I might not make it out to the meets...thanks.

Sup guys! I'm still down for that cruise, but dont think the car will be running in time, gonna do some work to the block and maybe to the head before it goes into the car. Hopefully we can get something going again cuz the last meet was really fun! Down for a cruise and eat, sounds like we should meet some where in the south-east bay maybe in Milpitas? Great mall/Q-cup has big parking lots...maybe theMarina in the East bay,good picture opportunities...dunno, i'll think of more places and get back to you guys soon...

Up north doenst actually sound to bad...What about HOOters in Dublin, all the South bay guys can go for a little cruise, Calaveras to 84 and up to Dublin...Sounds like fun to me!!!

al1dere is your problem affecting your performance badly cuz if thats how you had it and your just trying to change it to pass smog i know a place in san jose that will pass you for 90 including the cert. they also send in the info to the dmv so you dont really have to do anything but bring cash haha

Once again, my car is still down. It's been 4 months now... so much for getting everything done quickly. If the meet is later on in May I'll try and have the car done by then. Finishing up poly suspension bushings, boxed up the rear control arms, welded up the rear toe link eliminators, new ball joints all around, new tie rod ends, new oil cooler going on, new FMIC, new clutch, and a bunch of other new crap. Not to mention the engine isn't in the car at the moment. This car is going to be almost new when I'm done. Hopefully it'll run like new.

It's been a long time coming (and saving).

I say we start talking about a date for this meet guys. Since some people have some buttoning up to do on their cars, including myself (UPIC and BOV), we set the date for late May. How about, if people want a Friday, May 20th and if people want a Saturday, the 21st?

Another thing, we still don't have a plan set. It might be too early but I'm getting the feeling that people want to do a cruise and eat. Another idea was the Boomers thing, which would be fun. Anymore ideas would be good. I'm down for a cruise and getting a bite to eat. Anyways, let's hope people can make this meet and hopefully it will be an even better turn out.
