Anyone from nor-cal, Chico area? I'm in the middle of an engine rebuild crisis right now, but would like to get something together if anyone is interested. Also, I'll be moving to Sac. this summer...how many tracks are there and where's the best vs. cheapest places to live for a transfering college student?

well im in chico, ca. I live in paradise, ca. ive worked on hondas and dsm's now for over two years. It depends on whats wrong with the car? I might be able to help you! post back and tell me whats up with the car, or if you know your problem lets go from there. Finally a local dsmer who is on here, i never see anyone from around here.

So finally my computer works again, sorry bout lagging getting back at you. I think possibly its Timing or Vacuum leak(i had 21psi on a boost test,and still leaked at TB elbow) use soapy water and listen real good all around(Intercooler pipes,BOV,TB,IM,PCV Valve,BISS,ETC) do you have a LEAKDOWN KIT its really helpfull!!! Ive dealt with chico imports, and if you've done all the work on your car, you can figure it out!! Ive felt the same way(im going to sell my car) but i figured it out! im down to meet and try to help you as much as possible Touge GST

So how were you're dealings with Chico Imports just out of curiousity. If they haven't figured it out by tomorrow, then do you think you could help me out later on this week? I've ran a boost leak test many times with soapy water and couldn't hear any leaks. My compression is good, so would I need to do a leakdown test? Thanks for the input. Ill' get back to you.

Update:
Car is fixed. Vacuum is at 23, pulls really hard in all gears, smooth idle, no shaking, no pulsing, no overheating, not running rich, no problems. Just thought I'd let you guys know. Thanks for all the help!!

Ended up being the timing. I hadn't messed with it because two mechanics had told me it was fine. I wish I would have done it sooner.

Hey what's up guys! I'm from Chico too. I just got a 1999 GS and need some help fixin it up. Is Chico Imports the best place to go around here for workin on DSM's? Just wandering because I might need some transmission/suspension work done, and need some recomendations. Any replies would be appreciated .

hey whats crackin up in gridley? Im always up there during duck hunting season and there isnt much to do eh? go to sportsmans club or other various bars, or go to orville to the casino, or the colusa casino.... anything else better to do along the gridley/colusa hwy? Theres a gang of roads to go out to and tune... i stumbled upon some street races one time on my way up to chico to hang with my friends, but didnt even bother to stop and watch/participate.

Lol, I think you saw all of Gridley, all 3 streets. Where did you stumble on the races at? Block road used to be the hot place that a ton of people went to but sheriffs have since cracked down due to too many people drinking out there. In Chico there is some crusing going on too and some races but thats where you should go to go out to the bars. Tons of hot college girls. But besides those areas, not a whole lot to do, thats why I moved for summer but I would like to be back everyonce in a while to go floating down the river and drinking beer. Let me know next time you are in the area, maybe we can go out and party. Where are you at in the bay area? I just moved to Pacifica and don't know anyone.

Im from SF. generally when we are up there we are hunting in the fall/winter or fishing when the shad run in the summer. Some dove hunting in the fall (or whenever the hell the season is). so generally we just get drunk after the hunt, eat dinner, and pass out so that we can be up at the buttcrack of dawn (or 3 hours before). Once in a while it'll be a saturday night and Crappy hunting, so we'll head out to chico or to the bars and just sleep in sunday. A bunch of my friends have trailers near therro farms (terot...? dont know how to spell it) and one at the "frog pond" and others on the other side of the river.

do you know anybody from gridley? THe only guy i know up there is Josh Croy... he works at gray lodge. My friend has been hunting with him for his whole life and i met him like 5 years ago when i started.

I saw the races on like road zz or xy or something... there are funny named roads out there, it was at night and a drunk hype so i really dont remember...

Yeah, I know Josh Croy and his red chevy pickup. Everyone knows everyone pretty much in this town. Yeah, some of the back roads out there have crazy names. and those were the chico races, but there were races in gridley on block road that were pretty good. but lately its been dead. well im hungover so im going to take a nap, .
