what is "purging"?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

A purge valve is a extra solenoid placed in line directly before the nitrous solenoid. It is activated by a momentary switch and allows all the air in your lines to escape. This will make your car run better on nitrous because without a purge you could be spraying that air into the motor for a second causing the car to run a little rich and then when all the air is through the nitrous would make it to the motor. When you pull your bottle out to fill it you allow air to get in the line. When you purge the car after all the air is released you will release a little nitrous, looks cool but is a waste of nitrous.
