I was just curious on your guys opinion on water injection. I heard that if you run it at high rpm's it is great for heat absortion and that the steam in the combustion chamber can possibly add torque and help clean cylinder walls. Is this a bunch of crap or is it something worth looking into. Im just curious thanks for any help or opinions.

iv'e read that it greatly reduces the intake temp. that is why it makes so much power. like a big FMIC i guess. i also heard that it does "steam clean" your motor insides, in fact, i replaced a craked cylinder head on my mustang and the cylinder where the coolant was leaking into was spotless compared to the others.

Thanks for the help. Do you know of anyone with one? Do they like it?

I've looked into W/I for a while. I think its great and wonder why more dsmers don't do it. It lowers your intake temps, wards off detonation, and steam cleans your engine. You can also do alc injecton wich helps your octane rating alot from what I hear. You might want to look into the SMC kit, its one of the better ones.

I run the Aquamist 1s system with the .8mm nozzle on a 97 GST Spyder with an upgraded SMIC, small 16G, cams, 660's and other mods running on 91 octane gas.

With the water injection (actually using 50% methanol and 50% water) injecting at the TB, I'm able to run 20 to 21 psi everyday. I did a 4th gear pull to redline at 21psi the other day and EGTs topped at 870C with timing maxing around 17-18.

It really seems to help when you run on lower octane gas with warmer weather and I don't have a front mount IC.

A great sleeper effect.

I've looked into the Aquamist too. Is it difficult to install? Is the water constantly injected or does it depend on RPM's or Engine Temp??

The Aquamist pump is in my engine bay, mounted above and to the left of the battery. I use the rear windshield washer pump to prime the system and the reservoir to store my water. It's a couple hours of work to install and the system is about $400 to $500 depending on what else you need to install. I needed some T's, tubing, and another pressure switch to run the windshield washer pump.

The Aquamist 1S runs at a set boost level you determine and it mists at a constent rate as long as you are above your set boost level.

I have mine set to prime at 15psi and the Aquamist pump to kick on at 17psi.

Do a search on the Internet on Aquamist or water injection and you'll fin some info. There is also a water injection group at www.groups.yahoo.com

If you guys don't go do dsmtalk. My buddy runs a propane injection kit on his 3KGT that is way better than any water injection system.

Later,

Yes, the propane setup looks to be better in terms of cooling and allow more boost to be run. I wanna see a couple more months of real world use, then I'm gonna get one if all is well. If the propane system can stand up to AZ heat all summer (and not explode), I'm sold.

Hey everybody

This is Import Power Online. Just thought I would chime in. We have tried to reply to every board we are showing up on which has been difficult. We are showing up on Turbo Ford, Typhoon-Syclone, Pontiac Supercharged, Honda-Acura Turbo/SCd and others. We have also pre sold to members on each of those boards. It is truly a One kit fits all system.

We have had better than 101 octane gas results. Even after running 2 hours under WOT in the 115+ AZ afternoon sun to gather datalogs the system was still keeping knock down to 0 and a max of 4 at 22psi. Turning off the propane at that point yeilded 24+ knock sums...OUCH......

The Propane systems are going to start shipping next week. We are very excited as are many enthusiasts that are tired of paying $4+/gallon for 100+ octane fuel, me included
