I figured out why the 75 shot wouldn't spool the PT6776 for crap

..... because what should have been about 7 lbs of nitrous had apparently leaked out and down to nothing but some compressed air in the bottle and this whole time I was spraying useless crap calling in go - go juice LOL what a newbie mistake.. Should have pulled the bottle out and weighed it in the begining before i cleaned the filter, tripple checked the lines, solenoids and jet openings LOL i feel like a dumb ass but oh well, gootta laugh at something, might as well be my own dumb moves (i can't wait to go get a fresh 10lbs pumped in the bottle tomorrow and try out my new ~90 shot jetting i had moved up to WHHHEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Is this the first time your using it Glenn? I have a 15 shot on mine just to spool it, but never got the motor tuned to the point I felt safe to hit it and the motor toasted itself anyway. But everything I've read is that N20 power levels usally double the output power in Turbos becuase of the quicker spoolup. and effincency goes up. So your 75 shot is more like a 150, thats a large shock to your drivetrain.

Nah, for the last few years i've gone through about 2-3 bottles a summer on my 57 trim (again only using it for spool via the haltech's nitrous controls) it comes on at X RPM and above 90% TPS, then turns off at 28psi

And on the 57 trim a 50 shot felt HUGE, but since i had used it last i have done SO MUCH work on the car, new IC pipes, new turbo, rebuilt head, changed clutch etc..etc;; and changed TB's and nitrous nozzle mounting position a few times, so when i tried using it and nothing was really happeneing (75 shot felt like a 25 shot at most and it was probablyt jsut the extra fuel and timing retard helping the turbo spool LOL) I kept telling myself it was either this new turbo was just that damn big that even a 75 wouldn't help it or that there was a problem in the system i needed to fix... it was called filling the bottle LOL

But anyway, last time i had weighed the bottle there was only 3 lbs used up, so i figured the other day when i turned it on and watched the gauge rise to 900 that i had some gas but was on a cold bottle. Some where some how, the valve must have either leaked, been open and the lines leaked or some one was in my trunk huffing balloons because i KNOW i didn't use that 7 lbs (a 10lb bottle GOES A LONG WAYS when you're only using it for about a split second on each gear change after 2nd) A 125 shot in my mustang was good for 5 1/4 mile passes tops, being sprayed from the top of 2nd to the end of the track... at 50hp jetting and only for spool befor ei was getting to abuse nitrous all weekends every weekend and still only filling it 3 times a summer, that was really a nice savings that i needed cause the bottle is an expensive habbit when you rely on it for your HP

Not to mention there's no cooler feeling with a laggy turbo than being able to flip a switch and have it hit 30psi faster than a t25 could on a built engine from a 4500 RPM punch

Gixrman.. as for the power, i'd almost agree/believe that.. when the 57 trim hit in 2nd gear it would light the tires up and be on the 9k RPM rev limiter instantly (no nitrous, but after spoolup) when using it for only spool 3rd gear went to 9k limiter faster than a normal 2nd gear spoolup[ would, 4th was freaking intense and way to scary to wind out on public roads.. you gain so much more usable RPM and such a broader (not to mention INSTANT) power band that I won't have a tubro car without nitrous on it again ... takes all the boring out of anything remotely laggy (at least at the levels i play at)

You dont have a purge on a set up like that or it doesnt need it?

No purge, when i turn it on i'll activate it in third gear and the line clears it's self in 2-3 seconds tops... from there on out the rest of the time the bottle remains open i have instant access to ful boost/power anytime i arm the system

also, purging is for guys leaving the light on the bottle that don't want to have tht small delay where the gas clears the lines and they need that instant 150HP hit leaving the tree.. The delay from not purging to some has been said to be better on traction (it was in my mustang in 3rd gear anyway)

Man, i can get a forum members old 91gsx with built auto and drivetrain for 700 bucks but i'm broke and disabled or i'd have a second car that's auto NOW

anyone want to buy about 5k dollars worth of real gas powered 1/5th scale RC car shit for about 1700 bucks? 2 cars (amost 3 of em) tons of parts, custom engines the normal man can't even buy..please help me get a AWD AUTO DSM PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HERE"S THE SADDEST PART.. I HAVE a spare haltech, turbo and manifold with external gate, BOV< 6 bolt engine that needs freshened up but it good, gauges EVERYTHING i'd need to complete that car just buying it as a shell with driveline.. i've got everything to pretty much build my car a 2nd time right off the bat from my trading adn collecting ways and days. I even have enough spare tubing stock to do the intercooler piping, side exit exhaust, a basic cage in it and everything.. I"ve been vvery fortunate as well as particular in what i'lll take towards a labor trade when doing work for people and it's finally adding up enough to show that it's paid off towards something

Well, I met up with the home owner from a deck I stained adn some garage doors i painted this week and got a little more out of him without asking because he liked the work so much.. This means i can surely get the bottle filled tomorrow..WhooooHoooooo.. I can't wait, I hope the 75 or 90 shots that i have jets for right now one or the other will bring this thing on pretty instantly.

I've been playing with rally style anti-lag and i'm really liking that as well.. I've got it set to where i turn it on and if i get over 4000 RPM the timing goes to 2* ATDC, the fuel increases 25% and and it will hold the RPM's ALMOST steady (these settings barely let it grab a 100 RPM per 2 seconds or so while building up to about 15-18psi in 5 seconds or so before i am near 5k RPM) Then once i go past 75% throttle the timing aand fuel go back to normal and it almost feels like nitrous it's self, but without burning juice to spool LOL

I think i may just pull 3* of timing out of the entire top end curve (i highly doubt itt would make a notable loss in power) and that way i can just run the nitrous manually and keep my AUX input setup to turn anti-lag on and off (figure i have to open the bottle before I leave the house if i want to use it, but if some one pulls up next to me to play, as soon as i drop a gear and even start to get ready i'm building boost that i can unleash instantly whenever i'm ready which is pretty much what the n20 is for anyway..) Who knows though, cause if i can make the effort to open the bottle i'll probably have the laptop and can configure the system back to nitrous, but i like having as many bells, whistles, tricks and advantages up my sleave at all times as i can . i mean ya never know wha tthe next guy has, adn there's people driving some pretty sick cars around daily anymore, so ya know i gotta be ready for anything :D

hahaha.. I have seen that same mental image thousands of times... on an auto maybe, but i never launch or touch the nitrous untill i'm usually at the end of 2nd or going into third... just looses traction in 2nd and 1st, plus on the launch i think it would be too high of a shock load on the trans
