I saw Zex now has a wet kit and a direct port out. Has anyone used either of these. They say they have a "smart" system so it works better. Havent seen any reviews on it so does has anyone used it or know anything about there new stuff just trying to get some info to see if its worth the money. Thanks

All the articles I have read, give it good reviews. Very precise control with your jetting. I bought the Direct Port kit from SBR for $700, but did not install it. Don't know if I am going to use it anymore... Shoot me a PM if you are interested. I would recommend it from the research I have made. I do not buy something unless it is :thumb:

Zex is by far the best nitrous kit we have ever used here at SBR.

Nate and I both use the direct port kit on our DSM's, and I even have one on my STI... I love it!

What is there smart system about? Is it safer to go with the zex kit?

The smart system is the control box they use, and in a simple wet system with one nozzle, it works very very well. The jetting is almost dead on, however you will still be best off to get the car on a dyno to get the jetting perfect.

With the direct port kit, we use the 100 shot jets on the nitrous, and the 80 shot fuel jets on race fuel and the tune up is dead on.

Nitrous is a very safe effective way to boost HP if you follow directions.

;) zex is junk. you do not want a control box that can fail. it is for beginners that hit there car with 100hp and boost and cant go single digits.

You can use your NX all you want, there solenoid failed on my own car five years ago and burnt my car to the ground.

If your talking about Nate in his AWD, thats a funny comment... he is still in pre-school.... its funny a kid can build a 700 WHP car at 18, score 1400 on his SAT's, have a 4.0 in college while working 40 hours a week for SBR, but still cannot go 9's with 148 MPH traps :)

Zex is the best kit on the market for the money, especially the direct port kit.

you lost me . nate who? Im not here to say who makes the best solenoids. I have seen them all fail but the zex box is at the top of the lists, it might be ok for a short time but there has bin way to many that took a crap for me to trust it. 148mph is nothing to frown on that is some big steam on the top end(wish my little street car was there I have only bin 118 in the 1/8 no nos on a dr tire).

btw- sorry to here you lost a car. it is never a good thing to see a investment go up in smoke.

LOL... I think I thought you were someone else...

I have had ZEX on my own cars for about two years, with no failures yet.

118 in the 1/8th is humping... our RWD went just under 130 in the 1/8 but always had electrical gremlins up top... dammit anyway.

I went to look at your pics, very clean car and install... nice!

Thanks, that 1g rwd looks like one hell of a car. I see big things once you dial it in. Are you guys going to meth?

Yes, going to meth and a G force 5spd this winter with a slipper clutch from ACT... should be interesting once we get back to the track in the spring... at least I hope :)

Thanks for the compliment, keep us updated on your progress as well!

I had a NX solenoid fail and smoked a motor in my Dads Maxima, but know what the lesson is?

Send in your Solenoids yearly for a FREE rebuild from NX. They will ship it back to you and your golden. Just do it every year, and for the love of god, use a nitrous filter. :thumb:

Jim... where can I get one of these nitrous filters at? I've actually never heard of them before. I do change my fuel filter about every 10,000 miles though. I've went through several bottles with no problems thus far, but I would definitely use a nitrous filter if it's recommended. Thanks! :)
