Well I am thinking about putting a 80 shot on my car and need to know some basic info about it. My mods right now are...
2G mas, 2G exaust mani ported, evo3 o2 housing ported, big16, 660's, walbro 255, buschur FMIC, 3" turbo back, afc, profec b, and boost, egt, afr, water temp, and oil presure gauges.
What I need to know is what else would I need to use a 80 shot. Where is the best place to place the nozzle. Right now on the set up I have I went [email protected]. on 100 oct at 19psi. still running a little to rich egt's never saw 800deg C.

Build up your bottom end FIRST!!!

Pistons, Rods, Crank....

If not you can expects to see all of that laying on the road if you are still spraying when the boost kicks in.

A better alternative is the NX N-TERCOOLER which basically freezes your intercooler to allow denser air. I know where you can get these pretty cheap if you are intrested. On a recent dyno a turbo charged Civic gained 52 hp with this setup.

Dont listen to this guy... get a logger and start out with small jets. The N teercooler doesnt do much. You would be better off just doing a dry 50 shot if you only wanna pikcup 50hp.

Just make sure you get enough fuel.

You are better off not listening to me!

I dont know what I am talking about!

I only give opinions based on personal experience and feedback given to me from my customers!

Why would you want to listen to an authorized dealer who has been through training classes and someone who uses it themself? That would be the last person I would listen to.

I am going to go with the nx kit, sprayed into the tb elbow. I know some stuff about nitrous and i wasnt going to listen to him. I have done some reasearch on the intercooler spray and i think that its a total waste. If I am gonna put it on my car I want it in the motor. I am pretty sure I will have pleanty of fuel. I have another question. I know with dry kits you should put the nozzel 12" away from the TB. So why do spray it into the TB elbow with a fogger???

Yes, there is.

The reason why is to cool the air that the turbo is putting out. And make it denser. The denser the air is the more HP it will make. I see what your trying to get at with the intercooler cooler. It makes the air deser by cooling it off more then the outside temp. But how much did they have to spray to gain 52 hp????? alot more than a 50 shot I bet.

The follwoing is a post from www.i-club.com ....

"The NX setup is very nice. We got 20hp out of it on the dyno when we were tuning the race gas maps on a customer's car.

This was on a car that already had the Turboxs TMI, and managed 318hp or so at the wheels on pump gas. We managed 340 or so on race gas, and 362hp on race gas with the NX intercooler spray kit."

There is a 22 hp gain.

Here is a pic of it in action...

Thats nice but why spend the same amount of money for less of a gain in HP ???

I Got my NX wet kit for around 400. How much is there intercooler cooler?? And I will be gaining 80 hp to his 20.

This is true...

BTW, if you get your kit for $400 you might as well have stole it!

I sell these kits and they are $350 after shipping, but you have to admit it is a great alternative for someone that doesnt want to spray the motor. This kit is nothing other than an alternative.

BTW, it is nice debating with someone like you that has a level head

got a question about the intercooler sprayer how fast do you go through the bottle? seems like you would have to re-fill the bottle all the time.

dont get me wrong I like the intercooler kit. And if I had a newer car I would buy it. I also think it makes a great alternitive to spraying the motor. I am also interested in how often you have to fill the bottle. and how long it lasts??

With the NX kit you can spray as small as a 35hp shot. Just turn your boost down to 15psi when you are testing.

If a stock motor can take 28psi without blowing up it should take 18psi and a 35hp shot no problem. Just be conserviatve.

Remember one thing though!!!!!!! On turbo cars you have to use different jetting then on a naturally aspirated car!! You need to know your fuel pressure when you hit full boost as that is when you will be spraying. Call up NX and give them that fuel pressure so that they can make up jetting for you based on those numbers. Sort of like 35hp worth of nitrous, 60psi at full boost or whatever. Then you will have a proper jetting schematic for your motor.

This is where most people blow up turbo cars is not jetting the kit right because of the changing fuel pressure levels in a turbo engine.

DSMJim,

So you are saying take your base Fuel Pressure and whatever boost you are running at or planning to run at, add together and give this info to NX to get the correct jetting?

Use the logger keep knock under 10cts. Keep adding fuel and pull timing to keep the knock down. I have a stock bottom end and have traped 117 with out nitrous and 121 with a 50shot. Have been over 115 for the last 6mons and over 110 for the last 2yrs. runing high 11s to low 12s. To much knock on nitorous will take head gaskits out quick. I have found our cars like to knock on nitrous so it can be very dangrous if you do not get it tuned right. Have found nitrous and pump gas does not work very well togeher. Have to turn the boost down so far to keep knock down that I am bearly going any faster. It works grate on race gas. It allso works very good on pump to spool the turbo makes 1st and 2nd feel crazy, because when you are a 2000 in 1st my car does not hit 20psi till 6000, but with the nitrous it is at full boost 22psi by 3500rpm. I have it set up to shut of a 20psi. Good luck its fun stuff:D

Sort of. What you want to do is let them know what your fuel pressure is at WOT and they will give you the jetting for it. The jetting patterns in their kit are for 42psi your car will be much higher than that under boost say 60psi thats the only reason why.

So, how does that work out when you are not at full boost but at WOT sorta like when you are at the starting line. Or how does this pertain to using the nitrous to spool up faster on a auto at the starting line.

Not flames, just question.

Once you go wot the nitrous hits right away and gets the turbo going elmnates bogging. For me It makes my car lanuch better because I can set my launch rpm lower and come out of the hole not spining, but right when the turbo is redy do bog form having such a low launch rpm the nitrous is there it get things going. With out nitrous I have to launch at 5500-6000 to keep it form not bogging with nitrous I lauch a 4500. In my car I have the nitrous hooked up to the cc swith on the clutch so it does not engage untill the clutch is completly out. I find for street racing is ware the faster spool up helps alot. Like when you are racing a 5.0 he hits it and he is moving and we hit it and have to wait a sec before we relly get going in the mean time the 5.0 is got a 1\2 car jump with the nitrous you have no wait time and are gone. :)
