hey every1 im new to this site, and new to having nitrous... i just got a 50 shot nx kit, with a 1.4 bottle... ( that will be upgraded asap to a 10lb ) this is a dry kit and i was wondering if i NEED any gauges, and if not what kind of gauges do you recommend that are useful? like a nitrous gauge tha show the burst or an air to fuel ratio guage? fuel pressure gauge? also to upgrade from the 1.4 lb bottle i heard all i need to do is get a -4 "nipple" is this true? and wat exactly is a nipple? thank you for your help in advance.. sry 4 all the quesitons im just trying to learn

I am no expert but you should fill out your car profile or at least tell us what kind of dsm you have. If it is a dsm at all

it is, that doesnt mean you guys cant help, but i guess ur egos are too big to help...

calm down there, maybe no one helpfull happened to see your thread. only thing i can really suggest is an EGT gauge. you'll be able to tell if you've been pushing it too much, and you'll know when you're getting close to hamburger pistons. the only a/f worth getting (a wideband) won't tell you anything untill it's too late, but if you got some money it certainly can't help and is a great gauge to have anyways with any form of power increase. nitrous bottle pressure gauge is cool, but i've been reading a lot about how innaccurate some of them are, can't be that bad for $50 though. i usually tell how much n2o is left by the bottle's weight.

that is helpful thank YOU very much i appreciate it

LOL its all good, do u have any pics of the si? i love baby blue cars

This is a dsm forum right? or am i wrong

even if he doesn't have a DSM, he can still ask for help. there isn't a nitrous forum as large as this one anywhere else that isn't biased towards one thing or another. there are other nitrous forums, but they tend to be lacking in a wide range of information like this one covers. i've referred literally a hundred people to this forum just for the nitrous section since it's done nothing but help me and helped everyone else

NX Does not make a dry kit, no such thing. You need first to figure out what you have. If you have an Incognito System, that is not a dry kit (well technically it is) but it is not ment to be used as a dry kit because it doesn't have any enrichment at all which is not what you need. Thats for a car with a lot of HP that is really rich that can take a 35-50hp shot and are handeling the fueling from a full stand alone fuel system or over jetting a carbed setup. This is not a dry kit for a Honda. A dry kit does NOT mean no added fuel, just that the fuel is not coming though the nossle, they pump up fuel pressure (like 40psi extra) by applying extra pressure from the nitrous system on the top of the fuel pressure regulator vaccum system to keep it closed longer thus raising fuel pressure to get the other fuel, you DO NOT DO THIS WITH A AFPR.

If you have an NX kit you need to get an EFI stage 1 import kit or if you want dry (which is crap) get a Zex or NOS 5123 kit which will work ok for your setup.

I'll agree with that. I own an 01 Camaro as well as 2 DSM's and use the heck out of the LS1Tech N2o Forums... If a guy was to come in that forum and start talking about spraying a DSM they would immediately greet him with a bunch of 'First you need to get 4 more cylinders' crap and before you know it there would be a bunch of trash flying around. :notgood:

I like the way this site is run and think that in many respects the moderators (and members) do a much better job of actually 'helping' people out with their problems than many of the other sites. Many other sites will just move or lock or delete a thread about a 'different' car. Around here, people seem to help out a little more and complain a lot less... :thumb:

(And our DSM's are nicer too!) :dsm:
