we just put a purge kit on my friends 2g GS and i just have one quick question about it.
his car is basically a show car and when he purges, he wants it to come out as the white smoke gas(or whatever it is, for example like the skyline in 2 fast 2 furious), but whenever we purge it just blows out nitrous and is colorous and you can see it at all, you just hear it purge out....

so what my question is, is there anyway that we can get it to have that white smoke look when it purges instead of just a gas sound....we want it to look like this all the time http://images.cardomain.com/member_...950_58_full.jpg

it depends on the temp out side if its cold out side and you can see your breth it will be white

If you purge, and you only get air, you're only puring compressed air, not nitrous. The tank needs to have at least over 900 psi, filled with nitrous to have the white purge cloud. if he's out, or they're mis filling his tank, you won't get the cloud. The white cloud has to be present if you're puring nitrous, anything else, and it won't be.

Why do you want to spray your nitrous out? Just to show off? The purge kit is SUPPOSED to clear the lines of compressed air, and bring liquid nitrous up to the solenoid, not spray it all over the place wastefully.

Edit: And if it is only a show car, you guys could just mount an empty bottle, then get a fake purge kit that sprays Co2. Thatll always be a white cloud and nobody (ricers) will ever know the difference.

Your absolutly right. Purging should only be seen on a car that is sitting at the line of a race track waiting to run. Even purging on the street while spraying is a dumb idea. The whole purpose of purging it to bring fresh liquid nitrous upto the solenoids so that when you engage it you get a faster hit of nitrous. Some claim that 1/10th of a second improvement in the 1/4 mile time from purging. Mostly because it comes on quicker when you turn it on.

On the street there is no purpose to purging at all because 1/10th is not measureable on the street and purging will only make you a heat score. Purging in a car that is not moving or even less would never spray nitrous like most show cars is really stupid. When I see a riced out piece of shit with a nitrous kit in it that you know the owner has NEVER used and he is purging I just wanna rip it out of their cars. That is why imports are seen as a joke in the motorsports community.

I acctually rememeber talking to this one bananna at a show with a prelude with a turbo kit and nitrous on the car. He told me his car had 350hp. I was like yeah tell me how that is. Well 200hp is the rating on the engine, my turbo kit is 8psi which is 80hp and I have a 75hp shot of nitrous on the car. ROFLMAO sure buddy. 8psi on an H22 makes 240whp and 10psi is the max they can take before they scuff a piston. I hate show cars, seriously.

well guys, this car is a show car, but also is run at the track a least twice a month, would most likely just be a track car if the sponsers of his car didnt want it put in car shows, but they do

i just put this question on here as a honest question, not to be flamed about how what nitrous is SUPPOSED to be used for guys

Simms,

Doesn't matter if this is a show car, that was the very essence of your question. IF you wanna purge it often , then by all means fill it up with CO2. It's cheaper. However, the nitrous white plume is much more thicker and solid then CO2. Well.. only slightly. We have ricers with us sometimes.
Just make sure you don't activate the nitrous with CO2 in your bottle... :p

if it's a show car, just fill it with co2. but purging on show cars is about as lame as 2fast2furious.

not every car has to be a race car, and if anyone does anything not like a race car man they are ruining imports! not. people need to calm down, someone was asking a question, if the people making fun of nitrous had it they would be screwing around and spraying it as well.

Can't you people ever post without flaming.

Just answer the question or get the #### out, I'm sick of this.

Ever see this when you post:

No Insults and/or name calling - this can get you banned without warning - we don't care how experienced or knowledgable you are, don't be a smart ass!

Don't think I won't start handing out bans and suspensions if I see this shit again.
