okay, next week i am getting an evo 3 big 16g(and accessories), and mbc, im going to be running at 14lbs boost, with my engine( everything in profile) im just wondering if anyone has a round about idea of what hp and trq numbers i can expect to see? any input/suggestions for me? i am open to critique. Thanks, Rick

to be honest man...not much if you don't have a fuel computer. and 14 psi with stock COMP ratio you may gey knock. i would leave the stock turbo on there and focus on more bolt on's for now.

not really bench racing, i am not talking smack to anyone about how fast my car will be, or how it will beat someone, without without actually racing. im also pretty confident that not everyone has the same set up so its not a repetitive question, its specific to me. as far as the stock turbo.. its blown, thats why i am getting a bigger one, and ive read that you can safely run 14 psi some say more. i have heard different numbers thats why i am curious... so the correct reply would be from someone with a very similar set up that knows their numbers.

also i do have the neo for that stuff, i just dont want to spend the money on a wideband right now, thats why its not getting hooked up until spring, i have the narrowband in right now, so when i bump the boost up i will have a good idea if its going to be lean or not, not exact i know, but good. Thanks

Boost is a measurement of backpressure and isnt a very good indicator of how much airflow your engine will be seeing with that evo3 turbo at 14psi. But without ecu tuning I think you'll hit fuel cut pretty often at 14# which will nulify the hp gains its offering. I dont think knock will be your biggest problem, but without fuel system upgrades (you're not even sure what fuel pump you have) it's very possible. If you have to run the bigger turbo just run it off the wastegate spring (10psi) until you straighten out your fuel and ecu needs.

dont be a cheap skate and just get it dyno'd ... they are plentiful, and everywhere (except AWD dynos) 3 baseline pulls for $70-80 bucks is the average...

The term is also applied to guesstimates on hp/tq. I guess we could just call it "bench dynoing" but it doesn't have the same ring to it.

FUTURE MOD. Don't mess with this guy!^^^ He beat me to it!

But the dyno can be your best friend. And if it's to much. Download dynolicious pocket dyno or something!

Hp can be anywhere from... Let me take a guess... 200 whp to 400 whp!:ohdamn:
But good luck. It'll be interesting to see the numbers though!:thumb:

This is a good example of bench racing. There are too many variables from one car to another to even make an accurate guess. Your car could be broken in some way we don't know, it could have boost leaks, etc, that would cause a horribly low horsepower number for your modifications.

If you'd like a general idea of how much power cars with similar modifications as yours currently make, look at the dyno chart on this site, sort by the cars with the same turbo you have, and look at the average dyno numbers. Then you have a rough estimate of what you could theoretically expect if your car were tuned and running correctly.
