Mitsubishi lists 3 seperate P/N's, depending on wether they are labeled A, B, or C. What are you planning on using them for?
 
Yea forgot to mention that. My stock motor has about 118K on it and I smoked the head gasket. Since I had the head off I thought I would drop in a set of evo pistons and rehone the block with it in the car. Did'nt want to do a full rebuild because I'm in the middle of building a 2.4. Figured the evo pistons were a better choice over just slapping another set of 2g pistons back in. The 9:1 CP being the main reason.

Still running the 16g but with a ported head and FP1, FP2 cams.

Well I thought I would update this if anyone was interested. I bought a set of used EVO8 pistons and rods off ebay for $10. After getting them I measured everything and they are exactly the same as the 2g's. The piston skirts are much shorter. So I ordered a set of Mitshu EVO8 OEM rings and new rod bearings for a total invested value of $220. My pistons and rings were trashed. I'll hone the cylinders and drop'm in. I'll take some comparison pictures and a follow up of the install if anybodys interested.

If your wondering the old 2g pistons are on the left and the evo's are on the right. Everything measured out to be the same as far as rod clearance to the crankshaft and rod bore. I plastigaged the rods and everything was within spec. I checked for rotational interference after installing each rod/piston and the motor spun freely.

In those pics of the pistons in the block, it appears the larger valve relief is on the exhaust side of the motor.
Shouldn't the pistons be installed with the dot facing the transmission so the larger valve reliefs are aligned with the intake valves?

On another note, how is it holding up?
 
Well im sure he figured it out since that last post was over 2 years ago....
