I think my 6 bolt walked

I tore the motor down to do a rebuild. When I got to the crank the center main cap bearing was shot completly and there was alot of thrust. I took the crank down to a machine shop and he told me that it is trashed due to thrust.

The crank thrusted so much that it wore a deep ass groove in the crank making it unusable. That probly means the rods are shot as well. So Im buying a new motor from flatlander racing.

What would cause this? The motor ran when I took it out and had 180k on it. Around 170k I started using a act2600. I think that might be the culprit

ACT 2600's are pretty freakin heavy clutches. They will load more power than the transmission can even handle. If you had that 2600 in there, and were doing quite a bit of spirited driving, i wouldnt doubt it.


And besides, the chances of a 6 bolt walking without that cause is astronomical

Yea I figured with the high miles and the heavy clutch kickin its ass it was only a matter of time. Good thing I started saving.
