Okay, I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS and am sick and tired of the manual windows and door locks. I just recently ordered a kit from Electric Life that that comes with the power window motors, switches, and central door lock actuators. I pretty much have all the wiring down but the only problem I am having is with actually supplying power to the two systems. The guide says to use my fuse box but i don't have any idea how i tap the power so that the windows work when the ignition is clicked over, and the locks work all the time. The kit comes with ring connectors for the power and ground wires. My fuse box inside the car also, strangely, has power window and power door lock fuses even though my car has neither. However, I did not see any ring type connector terminals (screws) when i opened the fuse box. Could they be the two little covered black boxes on the side of the fuse box / fuses? And if so, how would i go about opening it because i haven't really tried. Thanks for any help you are able to provide, this is the only thing preventing me from starting the project.

ok guys now i have a 96 gs but it has manual windows and manual locks now i want to straight up switch doors with one that comes with power options. what else needs to be done to make the stuff work.

well i have an rs and when i got my alarm installed they installed actuators (not sure on spelling) that made my locks power. they cost around 50 bux per door

my eclipse doesnt come with power windows..its a 95 rs and i have a set of power window door from a 98 eclipse RS...what do i need to do to have it hook up besides just putting the door on.

I just did this on my 90 RS-T. I'm assuming it's the same on a 2nd gen. When you put the door on, feed the wiring connectors through (I had 2, one for the power mirrors and the other for the power door locks/windows). If you look up near the kick panel and fuse box, you'll see a connector taped to the wiring harness. You may have to do some looking and pulling but it should be there. Then just connect the connectors and do the other side. After that you have to put the power window relay in to give them power. I found mine under the hood labled as "WDO". I'm not sure where it is on a 2nd gen but I'm sure you'll find it. As far as the power locks go, I don't know how to get those to work but I really don't care, just as long as I have power windows. Hope this helps.:thumb:

I don't know, but I'd expect them to be if it's a TSi. This is one of the areas the factory manuals are kind of weak in, they don't seem to delineate very clearly what parts are "optional".

Im getting the conversation done in a few weeks. My TSI came without power windows but with power mirrors

I tried to do it but to no avail. I have a 91 Eclipse and tried putting the 90 tsi power windows in but they would get power for some reason? There much be a relay for the window somewhere...all fuses were fine.

I was was wondering what parts i'd need to convert my 92 gs to have power window and door locks. I was also wondering how difficult it would be to do the job as well.

haha its very easy!
as long as you have:
the window and lock motors
the window switches
the door panels(they don't have the whole for the manual window)
the door latches
the wiring harness(it plugs in under the dash and i think all cars have the plugs(theres 2 one for locks and one for windows i think.. because mine did and it didn't have power locks or windows, but power mirrors)
theres a relay in the relay and fuse box under the hood.....YOU NEEEED THIS!!! haha i didnt get this when i did it and i got everything in and it didn't work...i was pissed!
so i looked at a wiring diagram and found what was missing.
o ya i have a 1g...should be the same for all 1g but if you have q's just pm me...i have access to the wirng diagrams etc.
good luck to anyone who tries it

does any one know where I can find info to make the roll up windows in my girlfriends talon power. We have a 93' eclipse with power windows for parts. The windows roll up all funky anyway so I might as well mess with them.

where under the dash are the harnesses?

hmm, my car has two harnesses inside both doors, they are not for speakers, since my car had dash speakers until I mounted some 6.5's in the doors. I just assumed those harnesses are for locks and windows. Am I correct on this?
