I've done plenty of searches here tonight and seen everything from headlight cleaning to throwing it in the oven to take it apart. (sounds scary) But I did learn how to change my foglight bulb! Anyway... I have been trying to adjust my headlights since i bought my car. There is a couple gears on the back of the headlight that you turn to adjust it . I've been turning it with a flathead screwdriver, and seem to be getting nowhere. I will turn it for 5 minutes and the bubble in the level thing:confused: (what else could i call it) doesn't even move. It looks like it's designed for a torx bit, but i dont know which size to use. Or it could be something completely different; who knows? (not me):D

Thanks

I played with the larger knob :D near the outside of the headlight and wathced that level for the longest time but to no avail. If was then that I realized thats the horizontal adjustment. The vertical adjustment is down near the cap for the high beam bulbs. In either case, a large phillips screwdriver worked fine for me.

Thanks.... I must have been turning the wrong knob too. I'll give it another try when it's not so freakin' cold outside.:D

Thanks again.

Also double check that all of the headlight mounting bolts are snug.

The second time I adjusted my headlights I wasn't getting anywhere, till I realized that one of them (the top one) had some play and tightened it down.

How do you open the little plastic cover of the level thing, mine hits my radiator support

Okay, So I am bringing this thread back from the dead.

Recently, I have installed HIDs.

Before the install, low beams were angled and pointed the way they should be.

Properly aligned until I put my hid kit in.

I have made sure the bulbs are seated properly a gazillion times.

Still no luck with it, can't seem to aim or make adjustments on the gears...

help please!

Taking apart the headlights in the oven isn't that bad, I have a 96 and we did it to paint the housings black. Just take off all the little metal clips, turn oven on to 225* and put the headlight on a damp rag. Let it sit in for 5 minutes, and take out and use a screw driver to start pulling it apart, then put it in for a little longer and it will come apart. Too put them back together simply put the lense on the housing and then put it in the oven for a little, then reinstall metal clips and put back in oven for a few minutes and squeeze it together.
