get this, there's a local kid who acquired a 1g gst a little over a year ago, and he thinks he's the $h|t. it's so sad the way he goes around town acting like he's the only turbo car.
i know he has at least a cat-back, and i've heard he has a boost controller and new ic piping with a different bov  recently, he purchased some 550s and a big16, but he's apparently getting fuel cut a lot. his friend asked me if i knew any place to find info about wiring up a 2g mas because they'd heard it could help eliminate fuel cut.
of course, i ask what he's done for fuel, and apparenly he's hacked his mas a lot; then i heard about the 550s. "fuel management?" i ask? i've got to see the set-up that this kid is running. if he's really using 550s w/out an afc and running with a big16...
just thought i'd rant to some people that might get as much of a laugh out of this kid as i did.

look where you are man... i know what yah mean, dunno bout up in fargo but here in sioux falls, there is SO much dsm, I sometimes just want to close my eyes, I get a headache. bout 2-3 every block at night, and i'm not kidding.

most are just buyin and expectin to be top shit at start. Least here we have true tuners in town.

don't get me wrong, we have a few nicely tuned dsms around here; this kid is a rare sort in the area

Woot, I just moved from Moorhead to Fargo, huge move :p . Anyway a 2g MAS is better then a 1g...but he really is gunna need a AFC. BTW, I know there are a couple guys in West Fargo who run a shop. I think they are in the 11's OMG

yeah, i know about the shop www.straighlinespecialties.com
nick ran 11.7 without much tuning in his 93gsx, his car has a lot of potential yet. nate ran 11.2 with a full interior this last year.
i know the 2g mas is better, but i told the guy who is sort of a middleman between us that the 1g will be fine for now, he needs an afc before he needs a new mas. in fact, this summer i'll be upgrading to big fmic with a 2g mas, it will be more than i am going to need for a long time...

Fargo! wtf! I was in fargo today. :barf: It was the end of spring break, so we drove from Bismark to Vermillion, SD today.

I just got into tuning this last week... 550s without an afc would be a joke. :p

this small world shit is gettin old really quick.

I talk to nick on a couple boards, and he's got some pretty quick cars.

If you wire up a 2G MAS and use 550cc injectors, you don't HAVE to have an AFC. The 2G MAS outputs a lower Karman reading than a 1G MAS for the same amount of airflow.

From http://www.vfaq.com/mods/2GMAF-1G.html:
If you install 550s at the same time as the 2G MAF, very little tuning should be necessary on the AFC to have the car running as strong as ever, without the MAF overrun problems.

Not that I'd ever run it myself without tuning it, but he does (sort of) know what he's talking about.

well, let's put it this way... he doesn't know what he's talking about, the local dsm gurus must've given him the idea
