I just got my BOV installed... now my question is how do you adjust it? How do you know if it's too tight or loose? Since the install I've noticed a flutter sound when I let off the gas sometimes. I ran the second pressure hose from the BOV to a tee in the line between the tourbo and the wastegate actuator... is this right? What will happen if I run it with the BOV too loose or too tight?

Thanks,
John

To adjust your BOV you will loosten the jam nut on the top that is around the allen screw, and turn the allen screw in the direction that says soft if you have the sticker on the top (counter clockwise.) Give it about 1/4 turn then tighten the jam nut making sure that the allen screw doesn't move from where you set it and take it for a drive. Do that as many times as needed till the bov doesn't flutter when releasing pressure. Make sure you don't take the allen screw out more than about 1/3 inch.

I'm not professional on this subject but... i'll try to help ...

does it flutter when you're boosting? or when you're not boosting?

I've heard that if it flutters when you're not on high boost, it's normal...
but if you set it too soft and you're at high boost, you'll hear something leaking, which happened to me. So basically, my bov flutters when i'm at low/no boost.

if any of the wisemen or others read this post, correct me if i'm wrong.

You are correct toshi128. I forgot to mention that if it is fluttering at low boost that it is common. You DO need to make it tight enough that the BOV doesn't squeel or leak under boost.

I recently did a leak test and my Greddy type-s BOV leaks??? I tried adjusting it both ways with no luck. I couldnt get the system to hold any pressure. When driving my car holds boost @19psi with no prob. anyone found this problem when doing a leak test?, If so anyone know a fix?

Thanx

Well, i for one can tell you what NOT to do,and that my friend is to see if it is already to tight,by of course turning it one more time and nearly lose an eye to the spring loaded screw you just stripped. So not only have you gotten one free lesson from mike, but two. Lets review, when you think it's tight it probably is,and as a bounus.....unless you plan to be a pirate for halloween wear your safty glasses.
